Aggie catcher Cole Bedford discusses the team's mentality, will to win
On overall takeaways and what the team learned from the losses against Kentucky...
It was a tough week last week. Texas, we kinda had that one and we made a couple of crucial mistakes. And then Kentucky, I just felt like they had a good approach. Whatever they were asked to do all weekend, they got it done. I felt like we hit the ball pretty well, but we just didn't have any luck. We either hit it hard right at them or they'd make a good play. I think it's just the SEC. Every game you've got to come out and you're going to get their best shot, and we have to be ready to throw down come first pitch. On what Tuesday night wins do for them...
I think everyone is ready just to get out here and get back in the win column. It's a good thing about baseball, you don't have to wait a week like football. If you have a bad game, you have to wait two days at the most, three days, so you can get back out here, get your feet wet, get back in the groove and kind of get back in the swing of things. On so many unknowns with the lineup...
No matter what the lineup is, if you're playing or if you're not playing, you just need to be ready. If you're on the bench, be a great teammate and cheer on your guys, stay in the game, watch what the pitcher is doing so if you do get a late 7th or 8th inning at bat with runners in scoring position, you come up and make sure you are ready. On back-to-back conference series...
If we just play baseball and play how we play, the wins will take care of themselves. If we just compete and don't really chase the wins or chase the scoreboard and just play how we play baseball, then the wins will take care of themselves. On what he is personally working on to play to his best potential...
Probably just to be consistent. No matter what I do at the plate, I just try to make sure on defense, no matter who is on the mound, I just try to help them get through it, keep them in the game and locked in and just try to get us back in the dugout on offense as quick as I can.Never miss the latest news from TexAgs!
