TexAgs is Twenty: The Greatest Aggie Athletes of the TexAgs Era
TexAgs founder Peter Kuo purchased the domain “TexAgs.com” on July 22, 1998 – exactly 20 years ago today. Shortly after that, he launched a little website to bring Aggies together on the Internet. Since then, TexAgs has grown into one of the largest single-team media outlets in the country.
Over the last 20 years, the Texas Aggies have provided all of us with some incredible memories on the field, court, track, course and in the pool. There have been some amazing teams and seasons and many individual careers, seasons and single-game performances that will never be forgotten.
To celebrate our 20th birthday, here is a list of the 20 greatest Texas A&M athletes of the TexAgs era...
20. Jenna Moscovic - Volleyball (Setter) - 1998-01
- First-team All-American in 2001.
- Led Aggies to Elite 8 in 1999 and ’01.
- Led nation with five triple-doubles (kills, assists, digs) as a senior in ’01.
- Big 12 Freshman of the Year in ’98.
- Three-time first-team All-Big 12 recipient.
- Elected to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
19. Ashlee Pistorius - Soccer (Forward) - 2004-07
- Set A&M and Big 12 record for career goals (81) and points (194).
- All-Big 12 honors in all four seasons at A&M.
- Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year as a senior in ’07.
- All-American honors in ’06 and ’07.
- Helped lead the Aggies to four straight Big 12 regular season championships.
- Scored 26 game-winning goals.
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
18. Eric Sehn - Men’s Diving - 2005-09
- Earned a school record four straight trips to the NCAA Championships.
- Earned 12 All-America honors, including 9 first-team citations during the NCAA Championships.
- Won 11 Big 12 diving championships out of 12 career events at the conference level.
- Big 12 Diver of the Year all four years at A&M.
- Represented Canada in the 2012 Olympics.
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

17. Amanda Scarborough - Softball (RHP/1st Base) - 2005-08
- Two-time All-American as a right-handed pitcher and hitter.
- First-team All-American honors as a freshman in 2005.
- Named Big 12 Player of the Year in ’05.
- Helped lead the Aggies to their first College World Series appearance in 20 years in ’07.
- Served as student assistant after career-ending injury on ’08 team that reached WCWS final.
- Named to Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
16. Bronson Burgoon - Men’s Golf - 2006-09
- Author of A&M golf’s version of “The Shot” and one of the greatest college golf shots in history.
- Second shot on 18 from about 120 yards away landed three inches from the hole to win national title in ’09.
- All-American in ’07 and ’09.
- All-Big 12 in ’07 and ’09.
- Finished his college career ranked No. 1 all-time at A&M in career scoring average (72.78).
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
15. Breeja Larson - Women’s Swimming (Breaststroke) - 2011-14
- NCAA national champion in 100m-breaststroke and finished 3rd in 200m-breaststroke in 2012.
- As a freshman, finished 2nd in the 100m-breaststroke and 200m-breaststroke at NCAAs.
- Part of the gold medal-winning 4x100-meter medley relay team in the 2012 Summer Olympics.
14. Simone Facey - Women’s Track (Sprinter) - 2007-08
- Earned 11 All-American citations during two-year A&M career.
- Led A&M to Big 12 team titles in indoor and outdoor in ’07 and ’08.
- Claimed NCAA individual championship in 200-meter sprint as a senior.
- Finished 2nd at NCAA Championships in 100-meters in ’08 and 200-meters in ’07.
- Helped A&M win national individual title in 4x100-meter relay in ’07 and ’08.
- Set school record in 100-meters (10.95) and 200-meters (22.25).
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

13. Tyler Davis - Men’s Basketball (Center) - 2015-18
- Two-time All-SEC in ’17 and ’18.
- Only player in A&M history to start on two Sweet 16 teams (’16 and ’18).
- Layup against Kentucky at the buzzer helped jolt Aggies to SEC title in ’16.
- Led SEC in field goal percentage all three seasons in an A&M uniform.
- Ranked 2nd in the SEC in rebounding in ’18 (8.9).
- 313 rebounds as a junior in ’18 fell just 4 boards short of Claude Riley’s single-season record set in ’82.
12. Myles Garrett - Football (Defensive End) - 2014-16
- First-team All-American in 2015 and ’16.
- Three-time All-SEC selection.
- Compiled 11.5 sacks as a freshman, breaking the A&M and SEC sack record in ’14.
- 31 career sacks ranks 6th on the all-time A&M sack list.
- No. 1 overall pick in 2017 NFL Draft. The first Aggie ever taken No. 1 overall.
11. Daylan Holt - Baseball (Outfielder) - 1998-00
- Helped lead A&M to College World Series during an All-American campaign in ’99.
- Hit a school record 34 home runs and drove in a record 105 runs as a sophomore in ’99.
- Holds the all-time A&M record with 56 career home runs – and did it in 3 seasons.
- Helped the Aggies earn back-to-back Big 12 titles in ’98 and ’99.
- Named to A&M Sports Hall of Fame in ’08.
10. Mike Evans - Football (Wide Receiver) - 2012-13
- Two-time All-SEC in 2012 and ’13.
- Hauled in 151 passes for 2,499 yards and 17 touchdowns in just 2 seasons at A&M.
- Ranks first on A&M single-season list for receiving yards with 1,394 in ’13.
- Ranks 3rd on single-season catches list with 82 in ’12, the most ever by an A&M freshman.
- Ranks 1st (287 yards vs. Auburn in ’13) and 2nd (279 yards vs. ‘Bama in ’13) in single-game receiving yards.
- No. 7 overall pick in 2013 NFL Draft.
9. Shuon Madden - Men’s Tennis - 1998-01
- Two-time All-American in singles and doubles.
- Four-time All-Big 12 selection in singles and doubles.
- Big 12 Player of the Year in 2000 and ’01.
- Went unbeaten in conference play in singles and doubles as a junior in 2000.
- Reached No. 1 ranking in doubles in ’99 and No. 2 in singles in 2000.
- Named to A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
8. Jessica Beard - Women’s Track (400-meters) - 2008-11
- Top performer on A&M team that won three consecutive NCAA Outdoor titles.
- In last college competition, came from way back on the anchor leg to win 4x400-meter relay and secure 3rd straight team title.
- Won Bowerman Award in 2011, which is given annually to the top track and field athlete of the year.
- 16-time All-American and 400-meter individual title at NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
- Helped A&M win 4 straight Big 12 Outdoor titles and 3 straight Big 12 Indoor titles.
- Owns the top 3 400-meter performances in A&M history including the school record run of 50.56 in ’09.
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in ’17.

- Became the first Aggie to win the NCAA Outdoor title in decathlon in 2016.

- Set collegiate record in decathlon with 8,472 points at the Texas Relays in ’17.
- Broke his own collegiate record later that season with 8,539 points to win the SEC title.
- Still holds the collegiate record and owns the top 6 decathlon point totals in A&M history.
- One of 3 finalists for the Bowerman Trophy (the Heisman of Track & Field) in ’17.
- Named “Sportsman of the Year” at the National Sports Awards in ’17.
6. Megan Gibson - Softball (RHP/1st Base) - 2005-08
- Three-time All-American as a two-way player.
- Led A&M to the College World Series in 2007 and ’08, including a run to the WCWS final as a senior.
- Runner-up for National Player of the Year in ’08, going 41-4 with a 1.20 ERA while hitting .339 with 13 HR and 48 RBI.
- Three-time All-Big 12 selection.
- Big 12 Player and Pitcher of the Year in ’08.
- Broke 5 school records: doubles (48), RBI (183), total bases (447), slugging percentage (.717) and walks (172).
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
5. Von Miller - Football (Linebacker) - 2007-10
- Butkus Award winner as the nation’s top college linebacker in 2010.
- Helped carry the Aggies to a share of the Big 12 South title and a trip to the Cotton Bowl in ’10.
- Finished second on the A&M single-season sacks list with 17 in ’09, trailing only Jacob Green.
- No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
- Named MVP of Super Bowl L as a member of the Denver Broncos.

4. Danielle Adams - Women’s Basketball (Center) - 2009-11
- Led A&M to its first national championship in 2011, scoring 30 points in the title game vs. Notre Dame.
- Consensus All-American in ’11.
- Averaged 19.5 points per game in 2-year A&M career, including a school-record 847 points scored as a senior.
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
3. Dat Nguyen - Football (Linebacker) - 1995-98
- Consensus All-American in ’98 and All-Big 12 in ’97 and ’98.
- Winner of Lombardi Award as the nation’s top lineman or linebacker and Bednarik Award as top defensive player in 1998.
- Two-time All-Big 12 recipient.
- Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in ’98.
- Led A&M to its only Big 12 championship in ’98, the last conference title for the Aggies in football.
- School record-holder with 517 career tackles. The only player in school history to eclipse the 500-tackle mark.
- Named to Texas A&M Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
2. Acie Law - Men’s Basketball (Point Guard) - 2003-07
- Winner of the Bob Cousy Award as the nation’s top point guard in 2007.
- Consensus All-American in ’07.
- Three-time All-Big 12 selection.
- Big 12 Player of the Year in ’07.
- Led A&M from 0-17 in Big 12 play as a freshman to back-to-back trips to the NCAAs in ’06 and ’07.
- Helped the Aggies reach their second ever trip to the Sweet 16 in ’07.
- Hit “The Shot” in a win over Texas on March 1, 2006, launching a 6-year March Madness run for the program.
- No. 11 overall pick in 2007 – the highest an A&M basketball player has ever been drafted.

- Winner of the Heisman Trophy as the most outstanding football player in the country in 2012.
- First freshman ever to win the Heisman Trophy.
- Two-time finalist for the Heisman Trophy.
- Two-time All-American and two-time All-SEC selection.
- SEC Player of the Year in ’13.
- Led A&M to an 11-win season as a freshman in ’12 and its first top-5 finish in the polls since 1956.
- A&M record-holder with 9,989 all-purpose yards in two-year career.
- Highest career completion percentage (68.9%) in A&M history.
- Single-season records in passing yards (4,114 in ’13), TD passes (37 in ’13) and completion percentage (69.9% in ’13).

- Started every game at left tackle in his three-year A&M career.
