Self-inflicted wounds, lack of killer instinct haunt A&M again in 28-24 loss

AUBURN, Ala. —The killer-instinct that Jimbo Fisher sought from the Aggies was located on the green grass of Jordan-Hare Stadium.

It just wasn’t exactly what Fisher had in mind.

Fisher has said he wanted the Aggies to learn to step on a wounded opponent’s throat. Instead, they clutched their own throats in a fourth quarter meltdown that resulted in a largely self-inflicted 28-24 loss to Auburn.

Texas A&M had a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter and squandered it.
