Texas A&M grabs commitment from 2020 wideout Devin Price

Devin Price is a 6-4, 200-pound wide receiver from A&M Consolidated. He made the call to stay close to home today and verbally committed to play for Jimbo Fisher, Dameyune Craig, and company. He joins Tomball’s Demond Demas‍, Charlotte (NC) stud Muhsin Muhammad III‍, and Ft Bend Austin’s Troy Omeire‍. He chose A&M over Vanderbilt, Arizona, North Carolina, Texas Tech, Utah, Minnesota, and many others.

Oh yeah...and he’s the youngest son of A&M’s defensive ends coach Terry Price.

Has there been an Aggie football assistant coach that has endeared himself to the A&M fan base like TP? Well, if he what he’s done as a player and coach for the Aggies wasn’t enough, his son is now a member of the 2020 commitment class. What a cool moment for a guy that has given so much to this university as well as his family.

By age, Devin could really be a 2021 prospect, but he started school early so he’s one of the youngest kids in his grade. When you take that into account along with his growing frame and rapidly increasing athleticism, you find an elite player with an enormous ceiling. When Jimbo Fisher made the offer early in 2019, he told Devin, “I don’t care who your daddy is. You can play football at Texas A&M.”

Devin’s length and ball skills make him a nightmare for corners in one-on-one coverage down the field. As his strength has progressed, so has his speed and route running. Whereas he was rounding off routes at times as a junior-to-be, he’s now explosive in his breaks and sharp in his turns. A former baseball prospect in the outfield, Devin’s ball flight recognition is elite, and he uses his long wingspan to high point the football or catch it away from his body in traffic. If he is so young, would he possibly fill out and grow into a TE or LB?

After all, his dad is far from skinny.

I was thinking the same thing. What if he ends up 6'5" 240?
Could probably play multiple positions.

I'd be hard pressed to send my sons to Aggieland if he received an offer to Vandy. That's a hell of a good school. Gig 'em though! I'm sure he'll do wonderful here as well, especially coming from such a great family.

I think it would depend on what he wanted to do after football. Engineer? Ag? Finance? Accounting? The Aggie Network is legit. I doubt the Vandy network compares.

IF he wanted to be a liberal arts academic or go to law school, Vandy has the edge.

I know you're kidding, but how does that work? Do the rules just not apply in that situation? I was actually thinking about this when the pool party thread came out and someone posted his name.

Either way, glad to see him on board.
