Recruiting Country: The latest recruiting news surrounding the Maroon & White
Key notes from Recruiting Country
-
I think Antonio Johnson was a massive get for Texas A&M. One of the better defenders in the country, in my opinion. Shoutout to Jason Howell for going behind the scenes and getting all of that information. We knew it was coming but obviously wanted the kid to have his moment.

Watching that game against Auburn, I think it identified some of the things they still need in recruiting. Devon Achane, is a priority, Look at that play where Kibodi caught the ball in the flat and was tackled for no gain. Think if they were throwing that to Devon. They need some guys with more 'juice,' and they already have that in Demond Demas. Jaylon Jones has a little bit of that on the defensive side of the ball as well.

With the Troy Omeire situation, it came out of nowhere. He is a softspoken guy, so it was hard to see it happening, but apparently, this was in the works for a few weeks with his camp. However, if there was one position where you could absorb this loss, it was at the receiver position. Don't forget, Devin Price is really freaking good.
- When I see Devon Achane, I see how Auburn used Schwartz, but even more out of the backfield. Looking at him, he's Tyreke Hill. You can line him up anywhere on the field, and he will make plays. They just need to convince him that they will get him the ball.
- Justin Medlock got it done this week. 6'1" 200 pounds, this kid is an absolute freak with a nose for the football. I think he is about to blow up nationally on the recruiting front.
Ask Brauny
Positional breakdown of how the class finishes...
Two at RB
One at TE (Arik Gilbert or best available)
Two at OL
One at DL
One at LB
Two at DB (maybe)
How do coaches watch recruits...
Either on the sideline or they'll watch it on Hudl.
Zach Evans in town last week, what's the news?
A lot is trending in A&M's favor right now. He says he wants to make a decision soon, but either way, I see this thing going to Signing Day like I always have. Right now, I feel as confident in A&M's chances to get Zach Evans than I ever have.
Any definite takes left along the defensive line?
The guy at the top of that list would be Donell Harris, then Omari Thomas.
Any names besides Antonio Doyle at LB?
They're still going after Noah Sewell, but you have to get him to campus. The other name gaining traction is Phillip Webb.
