Making Moves: 2020 Rockwall WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba
This month’s D&D Moving & Storage biggest mover is Rockwall WR Jaxon Smith. The Ohio State pledge had a performance for the ages in the second round of the Texas high school football playoffs that saw the Yellowjackets upset the Allen Eagles at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Smith’s final stat line read something like you’d see in a video game: 15 catches, 252 yards, 5 receiving touchdowns, and 1 rushing score.
It wasn’t just this one performance, though, that lead to Jaxon’s recent rise in the state rankings on a number of recruiting outlets. The fact of the matter is that he’s done this type of stuff all year. Heading into the final month of the year, Smith has posted these receiving season totals: 86 catches, 1,781 yards, and 29 touchdowns. He also missed a game this year due to injury. Smith’s career at Rockwall ranks up there with any wideout in the history of the Lone Star State.
It’s because of these rather ridiculous stats that Jaxon has continuously climbed our TexAgs Top 100 rankings over the past few months. However, this month he makes his first foray into our top 10, landing at number 7 overall.
