First time to watch this segment and I enjoyed the analysis. The first play embodies why I hate this defensive strategy ever! It makes the players play too soft. Both white and Hansford have a clear lane to attack and destroy the back for a loss in the backfield. Instead they both (particularly White) hesitate allowing the back to bounce outside where he runs through 2 tackles for a big gain. There is no excuse for this defense to not be physical. And there's no excuse for playing this soft with our material on defense.

The old way to beat Leach when he was at Tech was to keep everything in front of you, force them to go 80 yds and limit drives to FGs and not TDs. Course this assumed you could score points on the O side of the ball. But with Calzada that blows that method out of the water so you have to take a few chances to get some stops. Instead we kicked FGs on 3 drives and forced a failed 2 point conversion in a 4 point loss. Get one more TD vs FG and kick your xtra point and that's all the points that were needed.
