The December signing period has come and gone, the 2021 season has wrapped, and the All-American games have been played. February is just around the corner, and National Signing Day is approaching, so it is time for the final 2022 rankings release. It is also time to expand the 2023 rankings to 100 and take a look at some top prospects in the 2024 and 2025 classes.

2022 Top 100 Recruits in Texas

The 2022 class has undergone quite a few shake-ups over the course of the recruiting cycle. Early five-star Quinn Ewers‍ reclassified, enrolled early at Ohio State and has since transferred to Texas, while standout DT Bear Alexander‍ was ruled ineligible to play at Fort Worth Brewer and finished his playing career at IMG Academy. Still, there is plenty of top talent with seven prospects earning five-star status in the final TexAgs rankings.

David Bowie
Cy-Park’s Harold Perkins is still TexAgs’ No. 1 ranked prospect in the class of 2022. The five-star linebacker recently decommitted from Texas A&M.

Former Texas A&M commit Cypress Park LB Harold Perkins‍ holds onto the top spot in the rankings. He is followed shortly by Texas A&M signees and early enrollees Conner Weigman‍ and Evan Stewart‍ at No. 2 and No. 3. Austin Westlake QB Cade Klubnik‍ and Arlington Bowie OL Devon Campbell‍ round out the top five.

Humble Summer Creek OL Kelvin Banks‍ and Galena Park North Shore CB Denver Harris‍ also earned five-star status.

The top 10 was dominated by the Aggies with seven commitments/signees making the list. In addition to Perkins, Weigman, Stewart, and Harris, WR Chris Marshall‍, S Bryce Anderson‍ and OL Kam Dewberry‍ round out the top group.

All 17 of Texas A&M’s in-state signees/commitments are ranked in the state’s top 50, with 11 in the top 20.

The Aggies were not the only ones making waves. DL Jaray Bledsoe‍ and Kris Ross‍ made big moves from outside the top 50 to inside the top 30. Arkansas signee Jordan Crook‍ moves from 54 to 38, while unsigned WR Caleb Douglas‍ moved from 67 to 48.

A few prospects also make their Top 100 debut. Dallas Parish Episcopal RB Andrew Paul‍, Killeen Shoemaker CB Khamari Terrell‍, Southlake Carroll WR Landon Samson‍, Dallas South Oak Cliff DB Kyron Chambers‍, Manvel S Collin Wright‍, and Baytown Lee CB Trudell Berry‍ all make their first appearance in the rankings.

2023 Top 100 Recruits in Texas

In 2023, we expand the list from 50 to 100, and there is no doubt we will see plenty of new names emerge over the course of the ranking cycle. However, there are five-star standouts David Hicks‍ (Allen), Anthony Hill‍ (Denton Ryan), Rueben Owens‍ (El Campo) and Javien Toviano‍ (Arlington Martin) have solidified themselves among the headliners of the class.

Walker Lott, TexAgs
El Campo’s Rueben Owens is already generating a ton of buzz as one of the nation’s best ball carriers in 2022.

The top 10 is rounded out by WR Johntay Cook‍ (DeSoto), WR Jalen Hale‍ (Longview), OL Harris Sewell‍ (Odessa Permian), DL Johnny Bowens‍ (Converse Judson), QB Jackson Arnold‍ (Denton Guyer) and OL TJ Shanahan‍ (Austin Westlake).

The top 50 also saw new additions with La Grange DB Bravion Rogers‍ and College Station RB Marquise Collins‍ making their debuts at No. 18 and No. 20, respectively. Other new top 50 additions include QB Austin Novosad‍, WR Ryan Niblett‍, DE Colton Vasek‍, CB Chance Rucker‍, ATH Jakoby Banks‍ and CBs Tayshawn Wilson‍ and Jaylon Braxton‍.

DFW, Houston, San Antonio, and East and West Texas are all well represented, and the defensive line and defensive backs are already showing strong depth.

2024 & 2025 Watch Lists

The classes of 2024 and 2025 are Watch Lists. Prospects are listed in alphabetical order, and there are definitely some names to know. 2024 and 2025 are already seeing some top QBs emerge. The 2024 defensive line and defensive back groups are also emerging as an area of strength, while the 2025 wide receiver and offensive line are already turning heads in a big way.
