2024 Milton (GA) receiver Debron Gatling commits to Texas A&M
Recruiting never stops, and while the 2023 recruiting cycle is nearing a close, the 2024 cycle is well underway. On Sunday, the Aggies welcomed their third commitment of the 2024 class as Milton (GA) standout receiver Debron Gatling announced his Texas A&M pledge.
Texas A&M was the first to offer Gatling when the Aggies extended a scholarship in October 2020. He has been a varsity standout since his freshman year, and Gatling has established himself as one of the best in talent-rich Georgia, the southeast and the nation.
At 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Gatling is always a playmaking threat on the outside. His size allows him to get physical in traffic, and his athleticism allows him to make quick adjustments to the ball for the acrobatic catch. He attacks the ball in 50-50 situations, and he has also proven to be a threat after the catch.
In 14 games as a junior, he has recorded 932 yards and nine touchdowns on 69 receptions and led 10-4 state semifinalist Milton in receptions and receiving yards.
Gatling becomes Texas A&M’s third commitment of the 2024 class, joining OL Ashton Funk and DL Dealyn Evans. The Aggies have long been one of his top schools. He visited Texas A&M three times since July — BBQ weekend and for the Miami and LSU games — and the Aggies made his top eight which also included Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Penn State and Oklahoma.
