loved how buzz knows that boots is struggling with his confidence. he is overthinking things. as a player, there is not much that means more, than when your coach and teammates got ur back. especially while ur struggling.

Buzz Williams looks for Aggies to end SEC road slate on a positive note
Buzz Williams and Texas A&M basketball will return to the state of Mississippi after a loss to Mississippi State on Saturday. Ahead of their final road clash of the regular season, Buzz Williams joined TexAgs Radio to discuss how the Aggies will respond vs. Ole Miss.
Key notes from Buzz Williams interview
- I think Mississippi State was better than us. They were more physical. We turned the ball over way too much. That prevented us from getting rebounds and fouls at the rate that we typically do. They were dominant in the paint. There was a long stretch where we didn’t score. Credit to them. They were better at what they wanted to do.
- I look at individual possessions. We held them to 14 percent from three, and 40 percent of their shots were from three. We shot it OK. We were four percent off from what we normally do. When you turn it over on 20 percent of your possessions, it hurts. Our offense helped their offense because they played on the broken floor a lot more.
- I think our guys have been elite at getting back on track. At Kentucky, they beat us the same way Mississippi State did. I did not think that was the same at Arkansas. If you break the 18 games into three laps, we went 5-1 in the first lap and 5-1 in the second lap. We are in lap three, and we have a chase to be 5-1. We are 5-3 on the road and 8-0 at home. The response of our group, regardless of the result, has been good.
- Before SEC play started, I told the guys we had 62 days of consecutive work. We set up our schedule of how we are going to do things. They have been bought in more so than any team that I’ve coached. Our guys have handled winning and losing in a mature way. You have to handle winning and losing the same. We have done well in handling the work. Most coaches would stay on the road with Saturday and Tuesday games. We came back because of our process. I hope we win. Ole Miss fired coach Kermit Davis. They played completely differently. They will not play in the postseason. This is their swansong.
- Tyrece ‘Boots’ Radford will be fine. If all he did was shoot, his name wouldn’t be Boots. He gives so much to who we are. He gives an edge, toughness and stableness. He is someone you can count on.
