Texas A&M adds former Fresno State QB Jaylen Henderson via transfer portal
Transfer portal QB Jaylen Henderson committed to Texas A&M today.
Originally from Chaminade High School in West Hills, California, Henderson has been at Fresno State for the last two years. He’ll arrive in Aggieland with three years of eligibility remaining.
In 2021, he played in three games for the Bulldogs. During that limited action, he completed five of his eight passes for 49 yards. He also ran for 68 yards on 14 attempts. Because he only played in three games, he was given his redshirt for the season. He only appeared in two games in 2022, and both were in mop-up duty.
As a high school senior, Henderson accounted for 1,402 yards passing, 345 yards rushing and scored a total of 16 touchdowns in a five-game, COVID-shortened season. His offer list coming out included Vanderbilt, Louisville, Northwestern, Boise State and many others.
He becomes the Aggies’ sixth addition out of the transfer portal heading into the 2023 season. Other portal additions include Tony Grimes, Sam McCall, Jerry Johnson, Josh DeBerry and Jurriente “JD” Davis.
We’ll have more breakdown soon for our TexAgs Premium subscribers.
