On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M Athletics as baseball makes a run through the SEC Tournament, men’s golf begins in their run in the NCAA Tournament and more.
Baseball (34-23, 14-16 in SEC)
The 10-seeded Fightin’ Texas Aggies are heating up at the right time as they are now in the fourth round of the SEC Tournament.
On Tuesday, eight innings of one-hit shutout ball from sophomore southpaw Troy Wansing was more than enough for Texas A&M to move on in Hoover after dispatching Tennessee on Tuesday, 3-0.

On Wednesday, despite holding a lead, A&M couldn't hold off Arkansas' rally as they stormed back. After a grand slam by the Razorbacks, Austin Bost forced extra innings with a homer in the ninth but the Aggies eventually fell short, 6-5.
On Thursday, Justin Lamkin's one-hit gem highlighted yet another Fightin' Texas Aggie shutout, sending the Gamecocks packing in the third round of the 2023 SEC Tournament, 5-0.

Men’s Golf
The No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies battle the best in search of their second national title at the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships from Friday to Wednesday.
Hosted by Arizona State, the site of the NCAA Championships is Grayhawk Golf Club on the par-70, 7,289-yard Raptor Course. The tournament features both stroke and match play. All 30 teams embark on stroke play the first three days. The field is cut down to 15 teams for the final round of stroke play on Monday. The top eight teams advance to the match play bracket with the quarterfinals and semifinals contested Tuesday and the national champion decided Monday.
The individual NCAA champion is crowned based on the four rounds of stroke play. The medalist earns a spot in the 2024 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club.
Women’s Golf
The Texas A&M women's golf team defeated the No. 11 Texas Longhorns, 3-1, in the quarterfinals but lost to the No. 2 Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 3-0, in the semis on Tuesday at the NCAA Championships at the Grayhawk Golf Club.
Track & Field
Katelyn Fairchild, Lianna Davidson and Joniar Thomas qualified for the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championship meet, while the Texas A&M women's track & field team advanced eight athletes to the quarterfinals after day two of the NCAA West First Round hosted by Sacramento State University at Hornet Stadium on Thursday.
Jaiya Covington advanced to Saturday's 100m hurdle quarter-final with a time of 13.17 to place first in her heat, earning an automatic qualifier to the next round. The clocking is the freshman's fourth-best time of the year.
In the 100m, Semira Killebrew and Camryn Dickson both earned non-automatic qualifying spots into Saturday's quarterfinal at 11.42 and 11.44, respectively.
The Aggies had four women run the 400m, advancing three to Saturday's quarterfinal.
The meet will continue into Friday with the second day of men's competition. The Aggies will be led off at 4:30 p.m. CT in the high jump, while the track events begin at 7:00 p.m. CT with the 4x100m quarterfinals.
