On Monday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things A&M as summer is winding down. Joni Taylor claimed her fourth gold medal with USA Basketball, and track & field earned some gold as well.

40 days until Fightin’ Texas Aggie football!
It was announced this week that twelve Aggie football players will represent the program in the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl in February, which will take place in Frisco, Texas at the Ford Center at The Star.

Women’s Basketball
Texas A&M women’s basketball head coach Joni Taylor led the USA U19 FIBA World Cup Team to gold on Sunday after defeating host country Spain in the gold-medal game, 69-66.
Taylor captured her fourth gold medal with USA Basketball with the victory, having won gold as a head coach for the 2022 U18 FIBA Americas team and an assistant with the 2022 Women’s National Team and 2021 U19 World Cup roster.
Team USA went 7-0 at the FIBA World Cup and defeated teams by an average margin of 42.6 points per game, with four victories coming by 50 or more points. None of Taylor and USA’s opponents surpassed the 70-point mark throughout the tournament.
Track & Field
Texas A&M track & field’s Connor Schulman and Jermaisha Arnold claimed gold medals for the United States on day two of the NACAC Championships at the San Jose National Stadium.
Schulman secured the gold medal for the United States in the men’s 110m hurdles with a time of 13.40.
Arnold followed suit in the women’s 400m final, as the sophomore also clinched a NACAC Championship title for the Red, White and Blue with a time of 50.68. She went on to claim a second title in the 4x400 race.
