In two seasons with the Cardinal, Montgomery is a .315 hitter over 489 career at-bats with 35 home runs and 118 RBI. He also boasts a career .603 slugging percentage and .414 on-base percentage.
On the mound, the right-hander is 1-4 with an 8.54 ERA in 32.2 innings across 25 collegiate appearances.
A&M fans will be glad to have him join the Maroon & White after Montgomery hit .462 (6-for-13) with two home runs, four RBI and four runs in three games vs. the Aggies in the 2023 Stanford Regional.
Originally from Madison, MS, Montgomery comes to College Station with two more seasons of eligibility and an impressive resume beyond the statistics.
For an impressive 2022 freshman campaign that saw him hit .294 with 18 homers and 57 RBI, Montgomery was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and was named a freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball, Perfect Game and the NCBWA. That year, he helped the Cardinal win the Pac-12 and reach the Men's College World Series.
In 2023, Montgomery again played a key role in taking Stanford back to Omaha, hitting .336 with 17 homers and 61 RBI.
With Schlossnagle & Co. looking to reload ahead of 2024, the addition of Montgomery will go a long way toward getting the Aggies back to the Heartland.
