On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as National Signing Day has come and gone, men's and women's basketball are navigating SEC play and much more.
Football
Mike Elko added three more names to Texas A&M’s 2024 class.
- Robert Bourdon a 6-foot-6 offensive lineman from Tennessee.
- Ashton Bethel-Roman, got out of his LOI to Arkansas, 6-foot-1 WR from Mo City
- Terry Bussey 6-foot athlete from Timpson
To go back, that is a 17-man haul for the class.
Nine of those 17 are currently enrolled in the spring semester: Myles Davis, Ashton Funk, Blake Ivy, Kendall Jackson, Tristan Jernigan, Jordan Lockhart, Jordan Pride, Izaiah Williams and Solomon Williams.
In total, with the addition of 23 transfers, that is 40 newcomers.
Myles Garrett is the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.!
Basketball
Winners of back-to-back SEC games, Texas A&M is sitting at 5-4 in conference play as No. 6 Tennessee comes to town on Saturday night.
Women’s basketball
Behind a dominating third quarter that saw Texas A&M outscore Ole Miss 21-7, the Maroon & White rolled to a dominating win over the Rebels in Oxford, 72-53. With the win, the Aggies improved their overall record to 16-6 and a 4-5 mark in the SEC.
Taylor’s team looks to continue this momentum on Sunday when they travel to Lexington to take on the Kentucky Wildcats at 3 p.m. CT.
Softball
Aggie softball is here! Trisha Ford will begin her second season in Aggieland this Friday through Sunday with the Aggie Classic, taking on Valpo, Lehigh and Tulsa.
Baseball
Texas A&M's Gavin Grahovac has been named the Preseason SEC Freshman of the Year by D1Baseball, as announced by the publication on Friday.
Jace LaViolette and Braden Montgomery of the Texas A&M baseball team have been named Preseason Second Team All-Americans by Baseball America.
The Texas A&M baseball program will open the 2024 campaign as a consensus Top 10 team after checking in at No. 10 in the USA Today Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced Tuesday.
We are a week away from Aggie baseball!
Track & Field
The Texas A&M track & field program splits travel this weekend between the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson and David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston.
The Aggies are coming off another successful weekend, as they closed their first home slate at the new R.A. “Murray” Fasken ’38 Indoor Track & Field facility. A&M added 14 event wins across the two-day meet.
Golf
Texas A&M standout Daniel Rodrigues has been named a men’s SEC Golfer of the Week following his exploits at the Arizona National Invitational Tournament.
