What goes around must come around.

No. 12 Texas A&M took a devastating loss to No. 7 LSU on Saturday, 9-3, as the Tigers recorded the first three-series sweep of the Aggies in program history.

For the first time this series, A&M did not score in the first inning leading to a quick 1-2-3 frame on both sides.

In an action-packed second inning, Kennedy Powell led the Aggies to score the first three runs, which would then become the Aggies' only runs on the day.

Powell slapped one down the first base line to score Rylen Wiggins, Allie Enright and Koko Wooley to escape a two-out threat.

This was Texas A&M’s first dropped series of the season.

A&M looked to Emiley Kennedy to get it started for the Aggies in the circle, however, she ended the day with only three strikeouts and four walks.

The Tigers then had a long-winded inning of their own as Raeleen Gutierrez singled to center field to bring in two runners.

On many occasions, the Aggies left runners stranded, not capitalizing on opportunities to put more runs on the board.

The Tigers kicked into gear in the bottom of the sixth frame, amassing seven runs to bring the score to a dominating 9-3.

After the first run scored in the sixth, A&M brought Emily Leavitt in relief for Kennedy. However, after loading the bases, A&M quickly looked to Shaylee Ackerman to step into the circle.

However, the Tigers’ Ali Newland hammered a grand slam off Ackerman.

The Aggies had one last chance to stay in the game.

Kramer Eschete singled, trying to gain momentum. However, it was shortlived, as Julia Cottrill struck out swinging. Wooley tried reaching first but ultimately was called out when the play was reviewed.

The Aggies are now 8-4 in SEC play and will return to Davis Diamond to face Prairie View A&M at 6 p.m. CT.
