On Monday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as 24 Aggies continue to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, football reported last week and much more.


Olympics
Four Aggies medal at the 2024 Paris Games over the weekend.

  • Shamier Little '17 and Bryce Deadmon '19 - Silver - Mixed 4x400-meter relay
  • Lindon Victor ‘17 - Bronze - Men’s decathlon
  • Fred Kerley ‘19 - Bronze - 100-meter

Joni Taylor and Team USA finished the group phase with a commanding 87-68 victory over Germany. The Americans posted a 3-0 record in group play and a 68-point differential in those victories. Taylor and the Red, White and Blue will start the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Aug. 7. 

On Monday, Else Praasterink of the Netherlands qualified for the diving 10m platform final. That will take place at 8 a.m. tomorrow. 

Football
Texas A&M’s Randy Bond was named to the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Preseason Watch List, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced Friday morning.

Soccer
MaKhiya McDonald scored the lone goal in nearly 50 minutes of play as the Texas A&M soccer team topped the Rice Owls, 1-0, in a weather-shortened exhibition match Saturday evening at Ellis Field.

The Aggies return to action Thursday when they travel to Dallas for a 7 p.m. match at SMU.

They open the regular season Thursday, Aug. 15, at Lamar and host Denver for the home opener on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
