In the '98 game in Austin, Randy was obviously hurting late in the game. If I were interviewing him, I would have asked him if he considered taking himself out of the game prior to the final drive. His last gasp pass hit the dirt well short of the receiver, probably indicating that injured collarbone. That was 4th down, if I recall, and pretty much sealed the win for The Horn.

Seeing how competitive Randy was and is, I doubt if he considered it. But RC should have inserted Branndon Stewart. Considering how well Stewart played versus K-State, which was a much better team than Texas that year, I think he (Stewart) would have given A&M a better chance to win late in Austin.

But only Randy, RC, and perhaps the OC know for sure.
