No 'glitch' this week, Texas A&M moves to No. 15 in Week 7 AP poll
No “glitch” in the system this week, huh?
A week ago, the AP Poll seemingly left Texas A&M out of the top 25 despite Mike Elko’s team picking up a fourth straight win.
The pollsters claimed a “glitch” kept the Aggies from popping up on the AP’s website and that the Maroon & White were actually “tied” at No. 25 with Sluka-less UNLV.
In the Week 7 update, A&M’s status among the nation’s top 25 is much more obvious as the Aggies (5-1, 3-0) are ranked No. 15 in the latest AP Poll.
Additionally, the Maroon & White are ranked No. 14 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The formerly-No. 25 Aggies put forth their most impressive performance yet in a 41-10 drubbing of then-No. 9 Missouri. For a couple of hours, A&M was the talk of the college football world before SEC stunners in Nashville and Fayetteville popped up.
With carnage across the landscape, A&M is somehow quietly riding its first five-game winning streak since 2020 and is alone in first place in the SEC. Indeed, only three SEC teams can still claim unblemished league records: A&M (3-0), Texas (1-0) and LSU (1-0).
The Aggies, Longhorns and Bayou Bengals are among the nine total Southeastern Conference teams inside the AP’s Week 7 poll: No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Georgia, No. 7 Alabama, No. 8 Tennesse, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 13 Louisiana State, No. 15 Texas A&M, No. 18 Oklahoma and No. 21 Missouri.
For the Maroon & White, a much-needed, well-deserved open week awaits.
Following the bye, A&M travels to Starkville to face Mississippi State (1-4, 0-2) on Oct. 19.
