Coach June Jones’ SMU Mustangs were beaten, battered, exhausted and tapping out in the third quarter of a game in which the home team had battled A&M to a scoreless tie for the first 21 minutes of action.

That’s how quickly Saturday’s contest turned in the Aggies’ favor.
