Week 6 had us, once again, one player short of glory in the lineup of the week and a big payout on our Flex Friday play. With plenty of marquee matchups, I’m ready to find value in all corners of the college football world. With no Texas A&M football matchup in Week 7, I left no stones unturned as I am including a few players that you’ve definitely never heard of. Let’s get us some winners.

*Numbers are subject to change*

Aggie of the Week

WR Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
LESS THAN 63.5 Receiving Yards
Mike Evans has reached this number in 3-of-his-last-10 games against the Saints. Marshon Lattimore has been pretty effective in limiting his production. Evans also hasn’t caught more than four passes in his last 11 games against the Saints. Evans obviously has a nose for the endzone, but I’ll take him to have less than 63.5 receiving yards this week.

Lineup of the Week

Caden Veltkamp, QB, Western Kentucky
MORE THAN 262.5 Passing Yards
Caden Veltkamp is an absolute competitor. He went from the third-string quarterback last season (in part due to the nepotism of the coach playing his nephew) to having an incredible debut comeback win in the Famous Toastery Bowl in December. He was challenged once again by coach Tyson Helton when they brought in veteran QB TJ Finley in the transfer portal to push for the starting spot. Well, the job is Veltkamp’s now, and he has played great. This week’s matchup is against a bottom-20 defense in UTEP that gives Veltkamp an opportunity to explode.

Cade McConnell, QB, UTEP
MORE THAN 217.5 Passing Yards
It’s back to the well. Last week, we had Cade McConnell in our lineup of the week, and his second-half performance helped us cash out. This week, he and Veltkamp square off with a chance to put up big points. UTEP has struggled to stay on the field in third-down situations. Luckily for the Miners, Western Kentucky is the fourth-worst team in the country when it comes to getting off the field on third downs and also boasts a bottom 45 pass defense in terms of passing yards allowed per game.

Jaydon Blue, RB, Texas
LESS THAN 64.5 Rushing Yards
The rushing attack for Texas has been effective, but the efficiency hasn’t all come from Blue. In games with a positive game script, Steve Sarkisian has been very liberal with who he has given the ball to late in games. Not only do I anticipate Texas having a positive game script (Texas is a 14.5-point favorite to Oklahoma), but also Oklahoma’s run defense has been nothing short of stellar. Oklahoma has only allowed 2.6 yards per carry on the year, which is good for fifth in the entire country. They also have accomplished this against a Tulane team, who is averaging 200+ rushing yards per game, as well as Auburn and Tennessee, who are both averaging over 5.0 yards per carry on the season.

Sam Leavitt, QB, Arizona State
MORE THAN 0.5 INT
Sam Leavitt has actually impressed me so far this season, given the situation he is in. However, the young quarterback has thrown an interception in each of his last three games, and the only two games he hasn’t thrown an interception were against Wyoming and Mississippi State, where the team garnered 241 and 346 yards on the ground, respectively. Not only is the Utah team Leavitt has to face only allowing 3.6 yards per carry on the season, but they’ve also accumulated six interceptions of their own this season. With a potential negative game script that will dictate and a lot of passes being thrown for Leavitt, one of them is going to end up in the hands of the Utes.

Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss
MORE THAN 292.5 Passing Yards
I wanted to take Dart’s passing + rushing number at 315.5, but LSU has found ways to get to quarterbacks this year, racking up 15 sacks on the season. Even with an OK pass rush, LSU’s secondary still has problems, and outside of the Kentucky game, the Rebel passing attack has been very effective. With this game having huge CFP implications and Ole Miss already playing behind the 8-ball in the SEC standings, Lane Kiffin is going to open up his entire playbook for this one.

Other Dawson Selections

Kam Thomas, WR, UTEP - MORE THAN 55.5 Receiving Yards
Kisean Johnson, WR, Western Kentucky - MORE THAN 66.5 Receiving Yards
Chamon Metayer, TE, Arizona State - MORE THAN 19.5 Receiving Yards
Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas - MORE THAN 62.5 Receiving Yards
Jordan James, RB, Oregon - LESS THAN 77.5 Rushing Yards
