Texas A&M adds former Mississippi State WR Mario Craver via transfer portal
Texas A&M has gone into the transfer portal and pulled a commitment from former Mississippi State pass-catcher Mario Craver.
A product of Clay-Chalkville HS in Pinson, Alabama, the 5-foot-10, 175-pounder chose the Bulldogs in the class of 2024 over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee and several others, including the Aggies.
In his one season in Starkville, Craver hauled in 17 passes for 368 yards and three scores. The stat that jumps off the page is the 21.6 yards per catch average. He had five grabs for 42 yards and a touchdown against Texas A&M on Oct. 19.
His overall profile seems to fit best as a slot receiver, especially given his elite quickness and run after the catch ability.
Overall, Craver is Mike Elko's fifth pledge from the transfer portal during this window and serves as another check mark for a big need for Holmon Wiggins heading into 2025.
