Around Aggieland (1/3)
On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Live, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as 2025 has arrived. Football added a defensive line transfer, men's basketball begins its conference slate and more.
Football
The Richmond, Texas product is coming back home as former Iowa State DL Tyler Onyedim has announced his intentions to transfer to Aggieland. He played in 40 games throughout his time in Ames and logged 90 total tackles, 12 for loss and forced a team-high nine quarterback hurries.
Men’s Basketball
The Aggies will face arch-rival Texas on the hardwood for the first time since December 8, 2019, when Texas won 60-50. A&M looks to open conference play on the right now as Longhorns have won six of the last seven.
That will be on Saturday on SEC Network at 7 p.m.
Women’s Basketball
A 22-point deficit was too much for the Aggies to overcome as No. 15 Tennessee secured a 91-78 victory. Aicha Coulibably only played nine minutes in the first half due to foul trouble but posted 20 points and fueled the comeback effort.
At 7-6, the Aggies will host Ole Miss (10-3) at Reed Arena on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
Soccer
Texas A&M enhanced its back line with the addition of defender Isabella Yakel from Portland. Joining the Aggie as a senior, she appeared in 58 of the Pilots’ 59 matches over three years, including 55 starts.
