On Monday’s edition of TexAgs Live, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as the spring sports are underway. Men's basketball is headed to Denver for the first round of March Madness, and softball swept Auburn.
Basketball
The Fightin' Texas Aggies were awarded a No. 4 seed in the South Region of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Buzz Williams & Co. will face No. 13 seed Yale on Thursday in Denver, Colo. to begin their run in March Madness.
Baseball
It was a forgettable weekend for Earley’s Aggies as No. 17 Alabama swept A&M at home.
They will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT.
Softball
Texas A&M’s Emiley Kennedy tossed a one-hit shutout in a 3-0 victory to sweep No. 22 Auburn Sunday afternoon at Jane B. Moore Field.
The Aggies last swept a conference-ranked opponent on the road was in 2017 at No. 22 Ole Miss on March 17-19.
A&M will return to Davis Diamond to compete in the three-game series against Alabama, starting on Friday, March 21, at 6 p.m. CT.
Track & Field
Jaiya Covington won the women's 60m hurdles national title on the final day of the NCAA Indoor Championships Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. The women's team finished the meet in seventh with 27 points, while the men placed 10th with 20 points.
Women’s Tennis
The No. 2 Texas A&M women’s tennis team dropped its first SEC match of the season versus No. 16 Vanderbilt, 5-2, Sunday.
Men’s Tennis
The No. 13 Texas A&M men’s tennis team turned in a dominant 4-0 sweep against Alabama at the Mitchell Tennis Center Friday night to secure its fifth straight win.
Men’s Golf
Texas A&M returns to action March 24-25 when they head to Palm City, Florida, for the Valspar Intercollegiate Invitational.
Women’s Golf
The Aggies return to the course March 24-25 at the Charles Schwab Invitational in Fort Worth at the Colonial Country Club.
Equestrian
The Aggies head to the Tyron International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, N.C., for the SEC Championship March 28-29.
