On Friday, Callie Garner took us Around Aggieland with updates on A&M Football’s newly announced kickoff times, NCAA Track & Field Regional action unfolding in College Station, and a standout week of postseason honors for softball, including a first-time Gold Glove winner.

Football
Kickoff times and television designations have been announced for the first three games of the 2025 Texas A&M football season. The Aggies open against UTSA on Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. on ESPN. They’ll remain at Kyle Field the following week to face Utah State at 11:45 a.m. on SEC Network.

Track & Field
Texas A&M had a strong showing at the NCAA West First Round at E.B. Cushing Stadium. On day two, six Aggies earned eight spots in Saturday’s quarterfinals. Jasmine Montgomery and Camryn Dickson each advanced in both the 100m and 200m. Jaiya Covington and Jasmine Harmon qualified in the 100m hurdles, while Jaydan Wood and Kennedy Wade advanced in the 400m.

On day one, Aleksandr Solovev punched the first ticket to nationals by winning the men’s pole vault with a 5.42-meter clearance. A&M qualified 12 athletes for Friday’s quarterfinals, led by Ja’Qualon Scott’s top times in the 110m and 400m hurdles.

Softball
Freshman KK Dement was named to the D1Softball All-America Freshman First Team after a standout season. She set A&M freshman records with 18 doubles and 64 RBIs, tying for the team lead with 16 home runs. Dement hit .500 with five home runs over seven postseason games and tied the SEC Tournament RBI record with nine.

Koko Wooley was named a Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner, becoming the first Aggie in program history to receive the honor. The shortstop made 212 career starts and anchored the Aggie defense with elite range and consistency.

Additionally, Mac Barbara and Mya Perez were named NFCA Second Team All-Americans. Barbara batted .366 with 68 RBIs and 12 home runs in her lone season with the Aggies. Perez set the single-season program record with 73 RBIs while hitting .424, the third-best average in school history. It marks the first time since 2013 that two Aggies earned All-America honors in the same season.
