Texas A&M adds former Colorado DL Brandon Davis-Swain via transfer portal

Texas A&M has added to its transfer portal haul today with the verbal commitment of Brandon Davis-Swain — a 6-foot-4, 320-pound defensive lineman who comes to Aggieland via the transfer portal after two seasons at Colorado.

He’s the eighth addition for the Maroon & White in this January window.

A product of West Bloomfield High School just outside Detroit, Mich., Davis-Swain holds the state record for most career sacks at 50.

At Colorado, he played in two games in 2024 and took his redshirt. He made eight starts this past fall for the Buffaloes and appeared in nine total games as he battled through some nagging injuries. He logged 15 tackles, three hurries, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and forced one fumble. He was named the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Week by PFF in Week 11 of the season.

Stay tuned. We will have more intel shortly for our TexAgs Premium subscribers.

A tad undersized for the interior (6-3, 290). Hopefully quickness and anticipation are his game.

He will have a role but we need a big space eater.

Great, but I'm not liking how we're looking on the D-line against the run.

Prime says coming in to the program out of high school he was not prepared. In the offseason before his second year he went to work to get his body right and learn the details of his position. Evidently it paid off since he got the most DL snaps his second year and was producing. Good 3 tech prospect with plenty of upside.

He looks to be the same size as onyedim. We do need another big body or two to go along with sanders and evans.

Thats what they said about Howell too.

Looks like a very solid pickup and a guy that can form into a leading defensive line player.

He weighed in at 320 yesterday, but even if he was 290, he is not really undersized. Especially considering he was a RFR and would likely be 295-300 by next fall even if he were still 290.

Miami's 3 deep at DT is:

303, 325, 298, 260, 310, and 250.

Ohio State's 3 deep at DT is:

306, 329, 292, 292, 303, 288

Indiana's top 5 are 302, 284, 298, 296, 286

Oregon is the biggest team at DT in the playoffs, but I think overall, some of you tend to overestimate DT size. So many are in the 285-300 range.

Just curious what you are basing this on. There is nothing in his stats or highlights that you could possibly see to think this. I could show you 50 other DTs and they would all look basically the same. Other than the Elko and the staff likes him, these type of comments have no merit and sound ridiculous.
