Kansas State transfer guard P.J. Haggerty commits to Texas A&M hoops

Former Kansas State guard PJ Haggerty has announced his commitment to Texas A&M.

At 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, Haggerty averaged 23.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists as a junior for the Wildcats in 2025-26. He shot 48.9 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from 3-point range and 70.1 percent at the free throw line.

Haggerty was a top-three scorer in the country last season and is considered a top-five player available in the portal this offseason. He’s one of the most exciting offensive options in the country and has scored in bunches at every stop. On his fifth school in five years, Haggerty is one of the most sought-after players of this transfer portal era, with stops at TCU, Tulsa, Memphis and Kansas State.

Now, in his final year of college basketball, Haggerty is headed to College Station.

This is a massive recruiting win for Bucky McMillan and the Aggies, as they worked in silence to fend off a lot of momentum from LSU and Will Wade. Haggerty is a game-changer and will immediately elevate A&M’s guard play. An All-American in 2024-25, he has the opportunity to finish his college career on a high note by leading the Aggies in the SEC.

The Crosby, Texas, native returns to his home state, thanks to a relationship with assistant coach Frank Haith, who got the A&M staff in the door. Most sites had Haggerty trending towards the Baton Rouge, but you can never count out Bucky Ball to land the big fish.

Haggerty arrives in Aggieland with one year of eligibility left.
