Key notes from Kendall Rogers interview

  • I'm doing well. It’s a bit of a busy weekend in Aggieland.

  • We talked about it last week, but I really felt like for A&M to beat Texas, they needed some better pitching. We also mentioned getting the crowd behind you from the start. The atmosphere on Friday was one of the best I've ever seen. That is a lot to say after the Oregon Super Regional. The pitching performances from Clayton Freshcorn, Aiden Sims and the bullpen with Gavin Lyons were great. Now, your offense is clicking. The other thing I liked was that they worked a lot of counts. They had some big at-bats and were able to get it done. I don't think A&M played as well as they possibly could.

  • I think it was huge from a national perception. We all knew A&M improved. But it's one thing to go do what they've done so far against Texas. There was a lot more pressure for A&M to perform than Texas, let's be honest. I think it actually is big for Michael Earley. I do think the narrative, nationally, on Earley is different. What you say is that a well-coached team was ready emotionally and physically. You feel really good about this team and the season's longevity.

  • My key for LSU is the same as Texas. Get the crowd out of it. The only way I think they lose is if they allow the Box to become a factor. If you're Earley, you're preaching to get these guys early and get a series victory. If you get to the eighth and ninth innings, it's going to get rowdy. Keep the LSU crowd out of it.
