Easily and impressively, No. 4 Texas A&M opened the season with a sweep. Yes, it was Hofstra. Nonetheless, that the Aggies took care of business was less impressive than the fact that it was done with a balanced effort at the plate and the emergence of a stellar freshman on the mound.

Rob Childress' Aggies finished off a season-opening sweep of Hofstra on Sunday, leaning on the arm of freshman Tyler Ivey and the bat of Ronnie Gideon in a 5-0 victory. It was Ivey's first win in an Aggie uniform and Texas A&M's third in three games this season.

In his very first at-bat as an Aggie, Boomer White clobbered a home run to left field. With a strong bullpen and some clutch scoring, the Aggies were able to give Boomer a win in his first game to along with it.

Nine homers, 36 hits and over 380 pitches later, Texas A&M got a 15-14 win over South Carolina. In a game that lasted over four hours, the Aggies had to bounce back multiple times to tie up the series at one.

Errors and missed opportunities plagued the Aggies during their Friday night loss. Despite multiple comeback efforts, the strongest led by Mitchell Nau's seventh inning homerun, A&M was unable to recover in the end.

Ryan Hendrix pitched out of his mind for the first six innings. The Aggies were getting clutch hits, big plays and finally had some breathing room. Then, LSU came on strong and pummeled their way past the visitors.

The second-ranked Aggies and top-ranked Tigers battled in the kind of game everyone wanted to see, but A&M fell just short — 4-3 — on Thursday night. The little things and a few key calls made the final difference.

A&M fought valiantly on Thursday night. Grayson long threw six strong innings and after claiming an early lead and tying things up headed to the bottom of the ninth, the Ags suffered a heartbreaking loss to #1 LSU.

It was just a bizzaro day at Olsen Field. A&M struggled to get men on base, get guys out and execute their plan. With their first series loss behind them, the Aggies turn their attention to bouncing back this week.

Still the nation's top team, the Aggies nonetheless must shore up certain areas to maintain their momentum against a surging Razorbacks team. All eyes may fall on Saturday to swing a key SEC West series.

Following a 33-win regular season in 2014, the Aggies picked up their 34th victory Wednesday night ... with 18 regular-season games still to go. The nation's No. 1 team chugged right along, but one area still needs work.

For just the second home game of the season, A&M failed to come out victorious. While a home run from Logan Taylor and an early RBI from Michael Barash gave the Aggies a chance, the Bulldogs prevailed.

After losing its first home game of the year on Saturday, A&M came out with a point to make and could not have made it more powerfully than it did. Sunday's blowout was highlighted by a nine-run sixth inning.

A great response from the A&M offense and an impressive performance from the Aggies pitching staff, especially Andrew Vinson, carried the Ags to victory. They now move to 26-1 and 6-1 in the SEC.

The run continues for Texas A&M, which is now a bona fide top 10 team — and the nation's only undefeated one. Concerns are quickly shoring up and the Aggies are dominating in every other phase, just in time for SEC play's arrival.

Easing through their most complete game of the season, the Aggies cemented their reign as the only undefeated team in the nation with a dominant performance by Grayson Long and power at the plate.

Saturday night at Minute Maid park saw A&M get a fantastic performance from Grayson Long and the Aggie lineup in a 6-0 win over the Houston Cougars. Long pitched seven innings and had 10 strikouts on the day.
