I don't know much about Feigen except as a swimmer. Haven't heard about any problems. All I know for sure is he is incredibly fast and continues to improve. He could be the next big NCAA sprint record breaker.

Spice did you make it down to Austin to watch State? Feigen lit it up again 19.65 and 43.05, significantly bettering both his national records...some other FAST swimming. Matt Thompson 1:46.9 200im, Caskey 137 2free. And of course Mary Beck...Still have the Back, Breast, and 4FrR left...

I was in Austin for the state meet - but I watched the 4A meet.

There were some fantastic times today. Feigen was on fire of course - but his 50 time was 19.49 (!), not 19.54. He lowered both of his national records. His 43.05 100 is mind blowing. Sooooo close to going 42.

Mary Beck again lowered the 200 IM record. She was just off Natalie Coughlin's national 100 back high school record.

Matt Thompson is incredible. His 100 back was 47.71 which crushed the old 5A record.

Some highlights from 4A:

Skylar Smith (fr) - 50 free 23.37 - faster than 5A

Cole Cragin (jr) - 100 back - 48.63 (4A record) and just 1 sec off Matt Thompson
Cole Cragin - 100 fly 49.87 (4A record)

Great swimming today....

youre right, my bad on his 50, i had his district time on my mind for some reason. and that 100 is considerably faster than any of the current t.u guys have been this year, as is his 50 for that matter

oh ya and 18.99 Medley Relay split for Feigen

and thompson only broke his own state record by .08 :-) but yes it did crush the old one

Cragin is very fast as well. next weekends 200back at sectionals is going to be interesting.

Future Aggie Sean O'Shea had a nice 100 breast, 57.0

Wow - Jimmy F. is just sick. He's so fast - he's a freak! His ridiculous fast times from today:

18.99 - 50 free of medley relay
19.49 - 50 free individual
43.05 - 100 free individual
42.71 - anchor leg of 400 free relay (out in 19.95)

That's just sick.

Matt Thompson had some great swims, he just has the funkiest looking I.M. ever. Weird looking, but fast.

Mary Beck is too smooth (and fast) for her own good! You could put a cup of water, or even a cup of very poisoness something, on top of her head while she's swimming backstroke.

A lot of very fast swims today!

Future Aggie Sean O'shea as the earlier poster called him swam well at state, and should go even faster this weekend at sectionals.

Feigen did swim extremely fast. Although, he is one of those kids who swims once a day 4-5 times a week and is extremely fast. He is able to do this because he is a sprinter and also has a very good body build to be a sprinter, he is tall, has long arms and huge feet. On the other hand, my favorite swims at state were Will Singley and Matt Barber who I am pretty sure didn't taper and finished one-two in the 500 free. They practice 10-11 times a week and are going atleast 15,000 yrds a day

What does the future hold for those two?

Feigen is likely to be a star in the NCAAs. After all - he is the fastest 50 and 100 high school swimmer in history! His times in those events are automatic NCAA cuts. Feigen would be on Auburn's A 200 free and 400 free relays. Feigen has also improved continuously. He was very fast last year, and the year before. Now he is incredibly fast. I doubt if he is anywhere near at his limits. America's fastest sprinters are near 30 yrs old right now.

I don't believe Feigen swims just 4-5 times a week. I'm sure he doesn't pound the yardage like a distance guy. But Feigen swims for WAVE, a San Antonio club team. I don't think Churchill excuses him from all high school practices.

I have seen O'Shea swim. He is a solid swimmer. I don't know anything about his training history other than he swims for the Aggie Swim Club. His best event looks like 100 breast. He is also an IMer - which shows versatility and middle distance capability.

What about Will Singley and Matt Barber?

Wil (excuse me I misspelled his name earlier) Singley will be going to UNC. He has Olympic Trials cuts in at least one event.
Matt Barber is only a sophmore, he is already sub 4:30 in his 500 and he will most likely win state his next two years and go on to make Olympic Trials.

To elaborate on what SpicewoodAg said about O'Shea, yes he does train around 10 times a week, once a day with high school and once with Ags. He is a hardworker, and tries to excell in his training. Yes, his best event is the 100 breast stroke, or anything breaststroke for that matter. He is an IMer and swam the 200 IM at state. He is also versatile in the fact that he swims sprint freestyle relatively well and would make a good fit on several relays.
