After Session 3 the ladies look to be in a VERY solid position.
*(NOTE TO READERS: most statements referring to other teams will primarily concern Cal, Stanford, & Florida, since those are the 3 teams that A&M will be battling for 3rd place)
That 200MR will fight for 1st it looks like, with the top 4 spots separated by a mere half second. and Cal will be hard pressed to make top 5, since there breastroker splits a 29, as compared to the 27s of the top teams.
Melissa in the A final 400IM is HUGE, especially since Stanford & Florida have one in there as well. Strattons B final will gain some ground as well. Cal has ZERO finalists in either heat of IM...excellent. Stanford and Florida each have 1 in A final.
Cal will pick up some ground in the 100Flys, since they have Vollmer in the A (who might win the event), and 4 more in the B, as compared to just Triin for the Ags. Stanford has 1 in A.
The Ags will make up these points (and then some) in the 200 Frees, with Julia & Christine high in the A, and Codie & Kristen (hopefully high) in the B. Florida & Stanford each have 1 in the A once again, and Cal has ZERO!
Stanford will gain some ground in the 100Br, with one high in the A, and one in B. Alia in the A helps, with Cal & Florida both shut out of both finals heats.
The 100Bk will offset with the 100 Br, with A&M & Stanford being shut out, and Cal having one A, Florida one A, one B.
Prelims diving isnt finished yet, but Stanford has 3 and Florida has 1, well just have to wait and see who makes which final. Cal and A&M both have zero divers
The 800FrR is going to be an all out dogfight with Cal, Stanford, A&M, & Florida all seeded within 1.6 seconds of each other, although I would expect the lady Ags to be very close to, if not under the 7 minute mark, after seeing the 200free times in prelims. If Marshall leads off with a 44, Hansen 45, Heiss 44, and Wilkinson 43/44, I think they would have a very very very solid shot at 2nd place.
Sorry for the lengthy post, I just like to summarize the session all in one instead of seeing it in a million different posts. plus its good to see where we stand in the battle for 3rd in the team standings.
