That muttering sound you hear is d-bags like Draper and Holmstrom starting to question themselves a little bit.

Excellent, excellent win today. One of the best I've seen since I've been a Stars fan.

They've got new life, and Morrow is a freak of nature. We've still got the odds stacked against us, but we're rolling, and Marty finally got a win at Joe Louis.

If they get Franzen back, we're in trouble.

Draper and Holmstrom are little turdburglars, and Marty outscored both of them today.

Who was it that put the crosscheck on Morrow's face? That was absolutely ridiculous.

It was Draper with the X-Check to Morrow's face.

I think Draper is due for a little Claude Lemieux treatment in Game 6. He deserves it after that gutless crosscheck to Morrow's face.

Atleast Morrow can be satisfied knowing he hasn't made a career out of being a 4th line player.

Can we borrow hatch from philly on monday? Draper and roenick could start a support group.

How many times has Morrow had his name engraved on the cup?

Blue is right. Morrow is still clearly a 4th-liner or his name would already be on the cup.

Just pointing out that, so far, Draper has clearly had the better career.

Morrow is a fine player and he will have a nice career. Why are we even comparing these two though? One is a borderline franchise power forward and the other is a defensive-minded center (perhaps even a poor man's Bob Gainey).

Just b/c his name is on the Cup doesn't mean he's not a cheap-shotting a-hole.

Bob Gainey would beat the sh*t out of you for comparing him to that spare. Guy Carbonneau was twice the defensive forward Draper is. The comparison probably is better stated as Kris Draper = a poor man's Brian Skrudland.

I'm going to assume that you made a typo there and meant to say that Skrudland is a poor man's version of Draper. I don't really get the hate for Draper here. I still haven't had a chance to watch yesterday's game, so I haven't seen the crosscheck on Morrow, but it not like Draper has a history of cheap shots.

Draper has won one Selke trophy and was a key component on three Cup teams. He's been amazing in the faceoff circle throughout this series.

After Federov left and Yzerman began to fade, Draper really stepped up his offensive game. Injuries and the lockout really struck at a bad time for him. By the time he was up to speed again in 05-06, Datsyuk and Zetterberg were emerging and Draper drifted back into the role of a defensive stopper. I think playing for a team with less talent that Detroit, his career point totals would have been significantly higher.

Gotta watch the video. It was after the whistle, Morrow was skating off, and Draper hits him with a cross-check to the face.

Watch the crosscheck before you run to defend the guy. He does that kind of crap all the time; why do you think he's a magnet for other teams in playoff series? You could say the same thing about Steve Ott and I wouldn't protest because that's what Ott does. Draper's carved out a nice little career doing what he does, but I wouldn't put him in the top 10 of defensive forwards all time by any means.

I've always had disdain for the Red Wings and in particular guys like Draper, McCarty and Holmstrom. I think they've always rode the line in terms of the rules and get away with it because of who they play for. You could say that McCarty couldn't get away with it off the ice, but that's another story.

I can't disagree with that. He is clearly behind guys like Carbonneau and Lehtinen. The problem with ranking great defensive forwards is that they fade into history so easily. In his prime, Draper was one of the two or three best defensive forwards in the league, but he has really fallen off in the last couple of years. It was nice to see him get the goal tonight (ugly of course) but I wouldn't be sad to see him and Maltby step aside in the near future to make room for guys like Helm and Abdelkader. Speaking of Maltby, I've always thought of him the same way you think of Draper, sort of a supreme pest.

I actually really like Steve Ott. I love his drive and dedication.

This was a fun series, I hope to see another one next year. Morrow really came into his own this year and Turco remains one of my five or six favorite non-Wings. It will be interested to watch that young blueline develop. I think that Hull (another one of my alltime favorites) will continue to guide the Stars in the right direction.

There is no way you can compare morrow and draper. Morrow is the unquestioned leader and the best player on the stars. Kris draper is a nice little player that would be out of the league if he did not play on the wings. There is a reason why he has never left. He would be a spare on another team( like mccarty was)..He plays in a great system that covers up his many deficiencies. You obviously dont know dick about hockey if you are trying to compare the two.

Wings in 5 btw
