I like the Sydor move. There's a decent amount of up-side with no risk. Best case, his leadership and locker room presence helps get this team moving in the right direction. Worst case, they keep playing like they have been, and the Stars haven't lost anything.

The Blackhawks are good. Real good. The Stars are bad, real bad. 6-3 loss at home.

And they'll probably go further in the playoffs than this aging Stars team. Sydor got 19:32 TOI, which was more than Grossman and Niskanen and just 14 seconds shy of Daley's TOI.

Still, they've lost six of the last eight, 6-9-3, 15 points last in the Pacific, second to last in the West, second to last in the entire league.

This is looking like another '95-'96

Steve Ott broke his hand and will be out for at least a month.

Hey, at least we're moving up in the draft!

We can't move up any further than where we're at right now.

4-3 come from behind win at Minnesota tonight.

Turco really lit it up after the Wild had what would have been their fourth goal disallowed and he played great for the rest of the night.

6-10-4, 16 points and dead last in the league

Hopefully they can build on this BIG win. They really needed a lift. Like Razor pointed out - several teams in the league are putting together streaks even with numerous injuries, so maybe the Stars can do the same. Couldn't believe the Wild goalie was 44-0-3 when leading after 2 periods.

STATE OF THE TEAM (from a non-Stars fan)-

This team is really bad right now, they can't seem to do anything right.

They are tied for the lowest point total in the NHL and have played equal or more games than the teams they tied with.

They are tied for the fewest wins in the NHL and have equal or more games played than those they are tied with. Goaltending is no their only issue.

There are only 4 teams with more losses (Stars have 10, 4 teams have 11), If these 4, they are tied in points with 2 of them, and 2 points behind the other 2.

They have the worst home record in the league at 2-3-3, they can't kill penalties (5th worst in the league), they can't convert power plays (8th worst in the league).

What is going on with this team? They are better than they have performed so far this season. I am no Stars fan, but I am shocked at their bad performance this season

I agree with KB.

There are so many problems with this team.

The have forgotten how to play defense.

Turco has been just awful(wish we still had mike smith)

Was Niklas Hagman the glue of this team?

Tippet will be fired in the next week

Good thing we have Sean Avery to blame everything on now...maybe his little act will get everyone focused on bringing back the idea of winning with class and the grit they already had (Mo was right about that Hullie). Nice to get a win in Calgary (Phaneuf looked AWFUL - is that what Avery was aiming for?) and hopefully they can turn a two game win streak into a three game win streak tonight in Edmonton.

Avery did nothing but bad for this team. I'm glad he's done in Dallas.

Tied 3-3 vs Detroit, please don't let the Wings get any points out of this game.

Great win. I don't care about the Wings getting a point (not like we're going to catch them anyway). Much more concerned with Dallas coming from behind and pulling 2 points out of that game!

Brad Richards out for 6-8 weeks. This team is a skating Mash unit with Zubov, Morrow, Lehtinen for much of the first half of the season, Ott and his screwed up hand, Lundqvist's shoulder issues, Fabian's ankle issues, etc. Just hope the rest of the team picks up the slack and Marty continues his superb play so that we can get into the playoffs and get some of these guys back. And please no 1st round matchup with the Blackhawks!!

Assuming the Stars make the playoffs...I hope they are a 6th seed...Chicago just destroyed them all year...and they are firmly entrenched in the 4th seed as of now.
