For Triin Aljan's record to be disallowed because of a pool length error is ridiculous.

Twice in less than year they've had pool length/measurement errors.

And they're hosting NCAAs there next year.....

I personally wouldn't call the REC Center an embarresement, HOWEVER!

It does show an unwillingness on the part of the REC Department (Aggieathletics does not own nor operate the REC Center, they are just renters) to hire an Aquatics Director (and staff) that is capable of running a facility that a few years ago was in the top 5 pools in the country.

Will this change NCAA's in the spring NO!

Will the decision to keep such poorly trained and OBVIOUSLY inept employees in charge affect the future chances at nationally recognized events. Yes.

Simple answer, clean house. Texas A&M's athletic deptarment sure wouldn't let a slip up like this happen for FOOTBALL!!!! Understood REC Sports does not fall under the Athletic Department, but if they would like to continue to get the six figure rental fee they are charging the Athletic Department, I do hope, pray, no... demand a change in management of this pool.

jedi - you're right. The Rec Center is a fantastic facility. I was there last weekend. But two pool length errors recently nullifying records is just ridiculous. Bultman has to be crazy about Aljan's record nullification.

Who/what does REC sports fall under? Everybody has a boss. Surely the A.D. can raise hell about this!?

the wall is designed to move it was fine earlier in the day or the night before or whenever it was, they just need a better way of locking it in place. It won't affect anything in the future, any olympic sized pool that you swim short course in will have this issue every once in a while.
