that alludes to Phelps training for some new events this year. Since I'm too lazy to search the web, any idea what those events might be?
Off of his Bejing schedule, I'd guess the most obvious would be either of the backstroke events.
I can't see him going any more distance into the freestyles, but I'd definitely imagine he's going to try and win the 100 free ind. in some big meets, to answer some of the mainstream sports' critics who said Bolt's performance was more impressive at the Olympics because Phelps "shyed away from the 100 free, where the fastest pure swimmers are." Not that any of those guys will eat crow when Phelps wins there too. I'd like to see him train a few months for the 50 and swim it at a big meet, just to see what would happen.

Maybe other 50's for SC champs?
