But for an incompetent ump (who given a second chance today on a very similar play again called a safe Aggie out), the LSS would be all but clenched, with the Ags taking baseball. Now, we wait for tomorrow to see if that ump cost us a B12 Conf championship, a series win against t.u., and maybe the LSS to boot.

On a side note, there was an almost exact-replay play at the plate today that the home ump called right- the Ag slid in, touched the plate with his left hand and then was tagged by the catcher.

Just a few moments later, enter the ump from last night to again blow a call right in front of him. and so it goes.

Excellent job retaining the trophy. I'll admit, we should have won instead of tied because of baseball, but whatever, it happens.

At this point, football is the only major sport we are underachieveing in. If we can get it back up to a respectable level, we will have one of the nations truly elite athletic programs!

That extra $30M is needed. Yeast ain't cheap...

I reallya admire what we have done as a department. Got to keep it up, our goal should be top 10 in every sport.

At some point soon, we need to start translating several of these now elite programs into a few national championships. We're close, especially on the women's side (soccer, softball, track) so there is no reason we can't.

Again, WHOOP for the entire athletic department. Keep it up.

I imagine a lot of that extra $30 million EVERY YEAR goes to football. Sips should still check their ROI. We've won two of the last three in football. Not saying we have been better than them in football those three years. Actually, far be it. But I absolutely am saying that their football team has been underachieving as much as Dodds.

My thought is that money helps a program tremendously. But sometimes the really rich programs and their coaches and athletes get arrogant, over-confident, and performances slip unless they get particularly fired up for given game like they did last T-Day. With all their money and talent they should do that to everybody, including OU, every year. OU's athletic budget isn't in the tu ballpark either.

Anybody pick up on the fact that I don't think too much of "our friends from the state capital?"

Agreed! I think Jo Evans said it best when she told t.u.'s third baseman "that is a big deal" after Bailey's grand slam. Not only did it cost t.u. the game but also the LSS!

I heard her say that, but are you sure she was talking (in response) to the t.u. 3rd baseman??

I just figured she was talking to Bailey as she was looking at her rounding the bases when she said it.

I forget where I heard it but somebody said that she said that because t.u.'s third baseman said "it's not big deal" as Bailey rounded the bases.

I admit she DID emphasize the word "IS" as you might in rebuttal, as opposed to say "it is a BIG deal" if you were just complementing the person
