Well, I have to admit that I never ran track and don't really follow it at any level. The only time I am ever interested is during the Olympics, but the vast improvement of the A&M teams has definately caught my attention.

I just read the article on the front page about the upcoming Big 12 v. SEC showdown we are hosting. This thing sounds freaking badass. I don't think I have ever seen a collection of such highly ranked teams in any sport get together for something like this in the regular season. Maybe it happens more than I realize in sports with smaller followings like track, swimming, or tennis.

All I know is that even though I don't follow the sport at all, having my school compete on this level against the best talent in the country gets my a little pumped up. I need to make a point to get out and see our teams in action. I am sure track is one of those things that just doesn't translate on tv. I am sure watching these athletes in person would probably blow my mind a little bit.

Anyway, I just want to wish our teams the best of luck this year and going forward. The coaches and athletes are doing a great job representing our school.

Join the crowd. I mean that literally - go watch the events. You cannot imagine the talent we have.

I am pumped about going on Saturday. Have reserved seats on the first row near the middle of the track...can not wait!!
