I think the announcer did a pretty good job this weekend... he's showed ALOT of improvement from the practice meet in december

They probably took their cue from the New York announcers.

He's also doing a great job working with high school coaches in the state. I coach jr. high track and our high school coach couldn't say enough about the guy and what he is doing.

The Big 12 meet is only a week away. I would love to know the thoughts going thru Coach Henry's mind about who to run in which races.

He has to take in consideration how many points the Ags might get from a particular event if certain people participate. Some people may participate in a race even though they are stronger in another in an effort to maximize points. Also in the distance races, he doesn't know for sure who his competitors are going to be in each race.

Getting players to do their best is only part of coaching. What events to put each in is another part. I'm sure he knows what events most of the Ags will participate in. However, there are always some choices that are not so clear-cut.

I wish I knew what he was thinking. I love this sport since he arrived here.

What are the rules on how many can participate in an event? Are you limited to a certain amount of entries per event or an overall team number or what? Thanks.

overall team number, so if you can possibly score in more than one event, it's a big bonus. It makes it tricky when deciding between pole vaulters and high jumpers and longer distance runners, since there aren't as many scoring opportunities from them.

That's part of the reason Henry talked about a high jumper trying out the long jump - they don't have to add anyone to the roster, but they have another body in an event with a chance to score.
