Hey guys, so I know I've posted about my swimming site here before, but now that winter time is coming, I'm trying to put together an extensive database of public pools that can be used year round. If anyone knows of any, please email me at AskACoachSCT @ gmail.com

Thanks guys. If you want to see what I have so far, check out http://www.swimcoachtools.com/poolsHome.aspx

Agblastoff - the USMS web site has a link called "Places to Swim" and you might borrow some data from them.

Also could go to:

www.southtexasmastersswimming.com
www.gulfmasters.org
www.ntmasters.org

I think it is safe to assume that the clubs they list for Masters swimming have pools available year round.

BTW - I suggest you not restrict yourself to indoors pools. I swim at a place that is outdoors and heated in the summer. Many USA swim teams in Texas do not swim indoors in the winter.

Add: I see you want "public" pools - but I suggest you expand to "private" pools that offer or may offer a per use charge or a punch ticket system. Many school district pools are semi-public pools that offer many different programs for people to swim year round.

Hey Spice,

Thanks for the great list! I'll check them out. I'm definitely including pay-per-use pools, I just couldn't think of a great term to use. What I'm trying to avoid (although maybe I'll add them) is places like 24 hour fitness where you have to sign a big membership plan, although I guess it wouldn't be terrible to include those too for completeness.

I agree - don't include the Lifetime fitness etc. types of places.
