Womens tennis beat the razorbacks tonight 4-3 at home. Great win for the girls and hopefully get something going into conference play.

The match really showed that girls can grind out a great win. Came down to the court 1 match in the 3rd set. Gig 'em!

I am glad we could finally get a close win instead of a loss. Gotta get some help from
the bottom 3, though. Top 3 can't win them all!

It's great to come down to your final 2 players to win a match like that, but I agree that it's going to be hard to do consistently.

Although it's a great win, we didn't learn much. Our top 3 can compete with anyone in the country, and our doubles are above average. We're still looking for a rock at any of the bottom 3 lines.

Hopefully the girls, atleast, learned they could go and not just compete with, but beat a high quality club and can take that confidence on through the season. That could be a pretty substantial lesson.

That wasn't my point. Although college tennis is a team sport, the players much individually go out and win their own match. It's not basketball. Elze, Mo, and Nazari can't win for Sheri, Lauren, Stephanie, and Christi. Although the team won, and they probably feel great about that, we still lost at the 4, 5, and 6 lines. Those girls still lost their matches, which means that they still didn't gain any confidence.

We already knew that Morgan, Elze, and Nazari at the top 3 lines can compete with and beat anyone. It just so happened that on this day, they all pulled off victories on the same day, and got the doubles point. If anything, it puts more pressure on the girls at the bottom knowing that they're being carried by 3 players right now.

Winning the whole shebang instead of losing like you've been doing for how ever many years running is going to give the team as whole confidence, regardless of who indivdually won their matches and regardless of what answers TexAgs.com's message board got.

BTW, pressure on the lower three is probably a good thing.
