The 2010 NCAA Regional Track & Field meets will probably be the weirdest track meets ever – no individual champion in any event, no team championships.

The top 12 in each regional event earn a free ticket to the Nationals in Oregon. The Nationals will consist of 24 individuals in each event and 24 teams in each relay.

Jessica Beard posted a 51.25 and won her heat by 20 meters. I believe that was the fastest time of the prelims. Oregon's K Baker was a second + slower.

Wow! Curtis Mitchell lit up the afterburners at the 50m mark and took Heat 1 in 10.26. Is that a personal best? Top time in the meet so far.

Just as I finished that, Gerald Phiri runs a 10.17!

Jessica Beard under 52 sec - twice, Keisha Baker ran 51.60 for the third fastest time. Jessica won both of her heats by 1.5 sec or more. Never pushed.

Demitrius Pinder qualifies with a 44.93.

I wish Jessica had more help in the 4X4 - she always has to play catch up. I understand there is at least one freshman quarter miler coming in next season who is at least sub-54. In the greater scheme of things, Jess is absolutely incredible when she gets the baton.

After our ladies won the 4X4 going away at the Big 12 meet, the tea-sips actually beat them on time last night. The exchanges looked like a goat rope last night

I look for Jessica, Porscha, Jeneba, and Gabby to place well in their individual events and hopefully Dominique Duncan and Vashti Thomas will slip in there for some points in the sprints and hurdles. We will miss the points Natasha Ruddock would have likely brought in the hurdles. Not as optimistic about the jumping events. Last year it all came down to the triple jump for the women and we aren't as strong there this year. Hope for all the junk points we can scrounge up - both men and women.

I almost wouldn't be surprised to see one of the sprint studs (Mayo, Lucas, or Tarmoh) to run a leg on the 4x400 if they feel well going into the race and Henry wants to try it.
