Lucas has done it before indoors, including anchoring the 2009 Big 12 Championship - the only split time I could find was 53.98 indoors. I have no idea what her PR might be.

Tarmoh may be the stronger runner, but I haven't found any record of her running the 400. Ditto Mayo.

Tarmoh has led off at times this year. If we need the points (probable), I would expect to see both her and Lucas out there in the final.

I think there are several aspects that lead to the inclusion of some of the 200 meter runners on the 4 x 400 relay.

The 4 x 400 relay is the last race of the championships which means it won't effect the other events the girls are running in. I would not run the girls in any race until the last one in order to not put the extra wear and tear on their bodies when we have 4 girls that can get into the finals, but probably not win the race.

In the 4X4 outdoors? when?

Tarmoh ran the leadoff leg of the championships of the Penn Relays that went 3:32.86.

Oops, you're right, but once is not "at times". Anyway, after watching the race again on flotrack, I see her split was 55.20 - not good enough. And yes, I realize first leg splits are always a little slower, but her opening leg was not strong.

Sutherland, Flemings, and Charan all run faster routinely. Lucas' one indoor split that I found was over a second faster, and still not as fast as Sutherland, Flemings, and Charan run.

Unless Coach Henry has seen something in practice that isn't in evidence on the track, I don't think we'll see either of them. There's no evidence they will make us faster by moving up. I guess we'll see.

Which takes me back to my original comment - I wish Jessica had a little more help.

At the NCAA indoors, Tarmoh led off the 4x4 with a 53.63. As you know, she should be able to do better than that outdoors. I still believe she is a stronger 400 runner than some of the regulars. I would only use her if required.

Same goes for Lucas. Lucas was hurt when she ran her 400 indoor split earlier this year. In past years, she has substituted if necessary.
