Thanks, goblu, and you are correct. I doubt the coach would care since he could dismiss the claim as just another Internet rumor. My source, however, deserves my maintaining his confidence which could be compromised with the revelation. Actually, I should not have posted what I did, and I apologize for creating an unanswerable question.

Fair enough. At least I know it's a man.

John Cook?
Jim McClaughlin?
Dave Shoji?

I do remember some rumblings about Mike Jordan from NMSU a few years back. He isn't someone that I was all that excited about however...

That is sad. Once again, we blame inexperience. Relevant programs don't have "inexperience". They don't rebuild, they reload.

Not good enough for the first half of the season. Left wins on the table by not being prepared for late set play and set 5's.

Too much offense coming out of ouside hitter position provides too much predictablity and we did more of that last year for second half of conference in 2009, expect coaches in Big 12 to make adjustments. Setting to predictable to get one on one match ups. Middles not moved around enough to disguise attacks. Lack of vertical attack angles and not using horinzontal attck angles enough. No combination play sets for deception. Lose the battle of critical points..anything after 20-20 in each set, points after time outs or long rallys which suck the wind out of the team. If ball control is suspect it gets bad real quick. As Kelsey Black so goes the team. Opponents will be more prepared for her Mary Battis style back row attack tip. Serving is not aggressive enough for most part and has way to many serving errors for the lack of aggressiveness.

I figured 5-15 for season in the beginning and the victory over t.u. should have given us momentum in forst half but didnt when carry over to kansas with loss. See three more wins against TECH, Colorado and Kansas...need at least one/two more but expect 6-14. Possible wins are oklahoma at home although he has our number at home lately and baylor on road. With no major recruits that can have an immediate impact next year that i know of i dont see a .500 conference record next year either.

The Minnesota coach once said that at the end of a season you can look at one statistics that should correlate with conference standings. That is hitting percentage. Currently the Aggies are 8th in conference and also 8th in team hitting percentage. I alluded to the fact that we have not faired well in late set situations when having a lead and especially set 5's. We have played 7 matches to the fifth set and are 2-5 with wins over North Carolina and Colorado and losses to Pacific, Kansas, Baylor, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Of those 4 conference losses i would have thought we would beat Kansas. Here is an interesting fact...our team hitting percentage is currently .191 in conference play. In conference losses to Missouri and Oklahoma in 5 set losses we hit .246 and .224 respectfully weel above our league average which means lossely that we exceeded our level of play and still lost. Colorado was .213 above our average and won. Baylor and Kansas were below our league average and we lost (.178 and .159) In the fifth set on all 7 matches the team with the greater hitting percentage in the fifth set won. We tend to get a lead to begin the 5th set then force a team to take a time out and by the time the war hymn directed by yell leaders is over then the opponent has pulled even or taken a lead because as fans the war hymn takes all the yelling and screaming away and thus the momentum. We need to keep the momentum after those time outs and i would say we only win maybe one of five points following a time out at home regardless of who calls it. In a tight match those points are critical

If Corbelli is still around after this season then it's obvious Byrne doesn't care about the volleyball program.

"Doesn't care about" is harsh. I think if you get into being an AD, you likely have a passion for all sports, and obviously want to see them all do well. Better phrasing would be that "he realizes his job doesn't depend on the volleyball program, assuming all of the other sports continue to be amongst the tops in the nation."

Texas Tceh fires its volleyball coach. Rumor is abuse of players ad some compliance issues. Caldwell native Beth (Karasek) Falls takes over. Expect to see Tceh to play with more motivation in first match for new head coach ...unfortunately that is against the Aggies. Personally torn as would love to see Beth succeed immediately but that would be against us.
