I've been out of touch a bit...I saw a guy on the bench who acted like he's an assistant of some sort...and I saw Robyn is not there. Did she get cut? Out on a maternity leave? Something else?

Reed Arena was rocking! The environment was insane, and it was awesome watching the Ags tear the sips to pieces. Great job on c/o 2014 for coming out.

I didn't get to see the match, but first off

Congrats to the Ladies! I didn't think they could pull this off but they apparently played very well last night. I heard really good things about the play of Kelsey Black (not unexpected), Lindsey Miller (Maybe she's finally starting to get a good connection with the new setter, but after last year we knew she was capable of this) and Allie Sawatsky (I was not at all impressed with her in the beginning of the year but maybe some on court experience is paying off) Some very knowledgeable volleyball friends of mine were saying she is someone who is going to be very good in this league, so that bodes well for the future.

In regards to the question about the new coaching face on the bench, it is LJ Sariego from Texas Advantage Volleyball Club in Dallas.

http://www.ascvb.com/

This is the same club that both Steph Minnerly and Chelsea Ringel played for, although I don't know whether they were actually on his 16's team at any time. One of the Freshman DS's for Texas also played there.

It looks like he is really having a positive impact on the ball control and defense. Again I didn't see the match but from what I here we put on a much better passing performance than Texas last night which obviously plays a key part in coming out with the victory.

I'm excited to see this team develop and now that they have raised everyone's expectations I hope they can keep playing at this level the rest of the season. I'd love to see one more big time hitter step up at some point to complement Kelsey Black and Lindsey Miller so we aren't forced to overuse them all season. I think Kastmo can be this player as she becomes more comfortable on the right side, but only time will tell!

I kinda felt like the underclassmen in the stadium got a little spoiled to get to see us take tu out in 3 sets.

Those of us like me that have been at almost every game the past 4-5 years I think appreciated this win more than the rest.

I said before the match that I was just happy to finally not have to see Hooker on the other side of the net and that was a victory enough for me. I knew tu's team lost some good players from what they had in previous years, but dang I'm pretty sure we lost more. Just winning one set I would have gone home happy.

It didnt feel real watching us do what we did. Compared to the chaos that I saw on the court in our preseason tournament, this was refreshing to watch. I dont know what they changed but keep it up.

Congrats to #4 Sr Sarah Grace who learned today that she was granted another year of eligibility for the Aggie VB Team. Whoop! Grace transferred from Baylor after her first semester and then sat a year as well as a medical redshirt year with surgery. NCAA did things right!

I feel the same way. This is my 4th year watching this team, and it's been aggravating seeing us get demolished by tu every year. Finally some revenge. Oh, and when's the last time a volleyball class graduated with victories against both Nebraska and tu? 2013 with a great feat already!

Agreed with the last two posts. I mean, it's almost inconceivable that we could do this against a team with the talent of Texas. Not beat them, but really DOMINATE them in 3-straight. In the past, we've always come out strong in the first 20 or 30 points, before getting stomped the rest of the way. We finally put together a whole match.

Sure, the fish may have gotten spoiled. Like they did against UNC in soccer a few years ago (although that win was less of a surprise than this one). But hopefully, that'll keep 'em coming back. I remember what it was like when we were falling apart at The Holler House, it was a ghost-town on there. Then last year, when Reed was empty, it was brutal. Took all of the excitement out of the matches. Takes a lot of people to rock Reed, and hopefully this win is a springboard for that.

@drumbeat10 - thanks for the info on LJ - yes - I know who he is - we compete against TAV quite often - he consistently has his teams in the top 3-5 at nationals. I'm sure Chelsea and Stef were on at least one of his teams, but I can't remember which year. My web video was so grainy, I couldn't even recognize him - but I did like his energy - springing off the bench at times I look forward to what he can bring to the team!
