@ Spicewood - Absolutely, I didn't even factor in how disappointing it must be for paying fans when it comes to that.
I know RL and MP maybe aren't seeing this as the most serious meet ever, but the fact is they do represent our sport & scratching just because they don't feel like doing an off event is unfortunate.

It is also disappointing that MP made two consolation finals, and swam very fast in them. Look at 100 free. MP's time would have been good for 3rd. Would have been much better for fans if he had been in the A final racing against Lezak, Lochte, Walters, etc.

This meet turned out to be the Missy Franklin show. She is no longer an emerging star. She is a true young star and could be a 2012 Olympian at this rate. It was also a meet where Hoff was beaten twice by Ziegler on the last 100. Ziegler erased a half second deficit on the last 100 of the 800 free and turned it into a 2.5 second win. That is a huge last 100.

Agreed that it was the Missy show. She will represent the sport well. Hope she makes it on the 2012 team.

I don't think there's any question that she will be on the 2012 team, if in nothing else a relay. Her 59.75 100 back almost beat Coughlin's time from last season and is a personal best (and NAG record). Besides that, she's absolutely huge (she was 6' tall at 14). Worst case scenario, she's on 2 relays. Best case, she qualifies in 100/200 back, 200 free, 200 IM, and all 3 relays, and goes for 7 medals at only 16 years old.

She's already on the 2011 team...I don't think it's any sort of stretch to declare that she'll make the 2012 team with ease.
