DAMN! I've been waiting for over a week and through the whole boring weekend to start this thread, and you beat me to it. Well played sir, well played.

I'm expecting them to be a little better than usual at this time of year. If she didn't go back to the drawing board after that abortion of an NCAA meet last year then something's seriously wrong. The fact they got trounced at Auburn indicates perhaps she rethought her dual meet resting procedures in January (though you have to believe they did some varying rest 2-3 times in the fall - at Cal, at A&M, Invite).

I expect the sip girls will swim better than the past few years. Maybe just because they are tired of poor finishes. I think the Aggie women will push them hard and could pull off the win. But I'm worried about the free relays. I think we are weak in the 50 and the 100. We'll see how some important freshmen on both teams do - for example Moldenhauer for tu and Henry and Larson for us. I think our divers should dominate.

On the guys side tu will win relatively easily although the Ags should be very fast and could take a relay and a few races. tu is too deep and very fast in the 200s and the IMs. I am also interested to see how well Dax does vs. Feigen in the 100.

tu will def win on the mens side, but im looking for the Ags to make it the closest meet in several years. we havent truly been (reasonably) competitive with tu at conference in probably 5 or 6 years, so im expecting our guys to "give them a scare" this year. now, thats a relative term, because i dont really know if we can feasibly have them squirming in their speedos like we did in the dual meet, but like spice said, taking a few individual races and some relays, along with hopefully some (if not all) of the diving would be a great showing.

mostly, i want to see the guys split up the horns whenever possible. if we cant pull off a win, we at least need to keep them from going 1-2-3-(or 4) in ANY race. weve definitely shown that we are a level above mizzou, but every time we keep them out of the A final completely its always nice to see as well.

gonna take some clutch swims all the way across the board, but the closer we are to the sips in every race, the more guys we will get to NCs without having to jack with those last chance meets and time trials.

I wish the heat sheat showed us more. pretty pointless right now. we dont know who is on the B team, and its even tough to tell what guys' 3rd events will be.

^^Exactly. Hate conference psych sheets, especially in a conference like this where effectively everyone on a scoring team makes an A or B final. If this meet were going to be more competitive, it would make it really rough.

Easy Spicewood. She's done for the year. She'll be back though and we'll likely have the best women's diving team in the country next year.

Agreed on the psyche sheet. A completely worthless piece of information (outside of knowing if swimmers/divers aren't entered).

Sometimes even the swimmers don't know who is A/B until Wednesday night or Thursday morning. The coaches don't turn it in until their Wednesday afternoon coaches meeting.

LOB - why should I not care about Jaele's no show again? I'm disappointed she doesn't think it important enough to be here. Does that mean she won't dive at zones then NCAAs?

Do you think Henry will swim both 500 free and 200 IM in the same day? Not so bad for prelims but a tough double for finals. We really need a strong IM swim.

She is here, not in Australia. Read what I wrote again and put two and two together.

I have no idea what Henry will swim outside of the 400 IM. If they are being tactical, it should be something we think she can win and won't knock ourselves off of points in.

LOB - OK, though I'm not so sure I can read the tea leaves. So it sounds like either an injury or academics. Since she has competed this season though as a senior how is she coming back?

As for Henry - we look deep on the 500 so it seems like a waste to have her swim this.

It is interesting that on the women's side only Henry (4IM) and Sogar (1br and 2br) have A cuts. Lots of B cuts on both sides.

She did not compete in the spring at all and, from my understanding, is below the bar of competition numbers for the year in order to redshirt so it shouldn't be a problem. I could be way off-base but that is my understanding of the situation.

I completely agree on not needing Henry in the 500 but there are some stout 200 IMers to the west and she seems to be better at longer distances. My bet is we play it safe and put her in the 500.

I am bummed that I am leaving town VERY early Thursday a.m. and cannot watch any of the meet!

TSC having problems with Live Results as usual.

Girls start with a nice win in the 200 MR. Men 3rd in the 200 MR.

Cam just balked on a dive. Scored 1.5-2.0 on it.

heck of a relay for the ladies. Big XII meet and overall record i think. rough start for the guys. We all knew the back/fly legs would be our weakness, but yikes...gonna need to step it up big time in this 800

school record for the mens 800. VERY nice swim for the guys, but not sure if itll be fast enough to make NCs. still amazing to me to see how far we have come in that relay. to be a body length ahead of tu after 2 lengths, that was awesome to see, especially considering i think we may have been lapped by them not too long ago...

Girls medley relay was a team record (I think). Awesome fly leg by Paige Miller.

tu girls were very strong in the 800. Our guys were much closer in the 800 than I thought they'd be, but I don't know who was on tu's relay other than Dax.

Men's 800 was a team record too. Nice swim!

Riddle me this Batman. The men time trialed the 200 medley relay and went .7 faster than they did in the race. Would have been .01 behind MU.

New school record for Snowden in the 200 breast. 1:56.

1:48 for max Lewis in the 200 fly.

49.4 for nick han in the 100 back and 47.4 for ariens

1:37 200 free for Wagner. He had to swim by himself too.

Question for those in the know - Why is Caroline McElheny not swimming? Did she have to sit out a year since she transferred within the same conference?

Injury issues. She swam the first dual meet then missed the rest of the year if I remember correctly. The one meet she swam she was GOOD. MUCH better than at her previous residence. I look forward to seeing her at 100%.

Girls medley relay was simply awesome tonight. Two fish, a sophomore, and a former walk-on drop a school/all-time Big 12 record that had an NCAA champ on it. Can;t say enough about each one of those legs. They were all GREAT. We rank #3 in the country right now (after PAC-10's) in that relay. That is very, very impressive.

The 800 free relay was just okay I thought. Was hoping to be a little faster and we may have to sweat that one out a little as far as making NCAA's. That relay is easy to piece together if we get some improvements on our open 200's though. VERY impressed with Ibanez tonight. She ranks top 10 nationally in the 200 with that leadoff swim.

The guys probably wanted to be a little faster obviously. I thought the breast and free legs ont he medley were strong and Balazs was typically awesome. It would be nice to jump out and pound a few relay A cuts and not have to worry (again) though. Great job by Grant. He got a 10 on his fifth dive (along with a lot of 9's). Breaking any Eric Sehn record is a huge accomplishment.

Nice swim on the time trial...Lavery split a 23.87 on the redo. That's pretty quick! Better than Spann!

Wonder what the story is on Drew Livingston...didn't compete in the 1-meter.
