In general terms-nobody knows much, and those who do don't like to share much about recruiting.

The only public commit is a kid out of Consol named Hayden Dupelchain. 1:51/3:56 IM'er. 46.6 freestyler. Decent breaststroker. Mostly a depth guy.

Whether right or wrong I think the normal philosophy is to not announce the recruits until the summer or not announce at all. Blastoff where did you find that about the consol kid

It's unfortunate they don't get announced...Pretty sure the women's class got rated between 15-25 from last year because it wasn't announced...you could easily argue that it ended up #1...once we sign these kids we need to let people know (in my opinion)

favre - it is normal for Texas A&M. Just about every other top 10 program announces their recruits right around the signing periods.

Nah, that might destroy our reputation as being able to take unknown swimmers and turn them into stars. We wouldn't want to turn the program into a popular destination for top-20 recruits (not sure how they let Sarah Henry sneak in). After all, it's pretty rare for recruits (in any college sport) to allow something like where other top recruits are committing to influence their decisions. They're teenagers, and teenagers are usually more thoughtful than that.

In all fairness, I think those they are recruiting know the others they are recruiting/have already signed (or at least I'd hope so)...it's just that no one else does.

You both make some valid points though.

Yeah, my sarcasm was a bit hyperbole. But you get the drift.

Most of the country doesn't know who A&M has recruited until Big 12's. People might specifically target A&M and know who we've signed, but there's also people who might cross us off the list early on because they never hear about us landing big recruits.

I just saw on collegeswimming that Albert Riley, the sprinter out of Katy Taylor High School, commited to Texas A&M. Was 3rd at State in the 50 Free and 4th in the 100 Free.

Very good sprinter. Know that he was being courted by several D-2 schools that were giving him the "swim at NCAA's year one, why wait until year 2 or 3?" pitch. I heard there was a lot of pressure from his coach (a former D-2 swimmer) to go that route, which is probably why he waited so late to make his decision.

Solid get. 20.7/45.0 freestyler. Has a ton of room to fill out.

Chose us over Texas, which makes it even more fun.

I like the creative problem solving cashag, but unfortunately no Aggie commits on that list.
