Please note the comparisons between the points based on T&F projections and Best Performances (BP).
The Aggie Women T&F projections and Best Performances (BP) projections are very similar, which could be construed that if they perform as well as they have all season relative to the other performers, they have a good chance of winning the championship.

On the other hand, since the Aggie Men have their T&F projected points considerably above their BP projected points, it could be surmised that they will have to perform much better relative to their opponents in order to win the championship.

That's very interesting and informative. Thanks for posting that for us T&F dummies. I'd say neophyte but since I ran track in the 7th grade back in ought '66, I'm not new - just an igmo!

I hope he gets his outdoor track. Henry has been great for the school. I think the indoor one has been of great benefit to the program.

I don't think he needs the outdoor track, given what he's done with just the country's best indoor track...but it's moreso important as his legacy. If he can leave A&M with world-class indoor and outdoor tracks, then even after he's gone we will continue to be a dominant program.

If we get that outdoor track, we'll be one of the centers of the track universe globally. The ultimate goal is to not just hold big college meets but Olympic Trials, etc. All it takes is that thing that makes the world go round....

Humphreys 3rd after first flight of Men's Javelin. Florida kid Zunic jumped up to 2nd, not projected to score in Form Chart. Still 3 throws to come in Finals for top 9 after 2nd Flight is completed.

Florida will build a big cushion off the points they are going to end up getting in Javelin.

These will be very similar to the points we got from Trinity in the Dec last year.

If the FL kid does not fall in the finals, we will take a pretty good hit right there. FL will pick up 8 and we will gain 1 against the form chart for a total drop of 7 points for the Aggies.

Also, FL's decathalon is on track in 3rd.

Attempt 4 of 6 for Javelin results in no change to standings.

Sam's 5th throw is a good one but barely misses 3rd place.

6th attempt has 2 other yahoos passing Sam up.

Sam will finish in 5th, a one point loss to the form chart.

Florida's guy will finish 4th, a five point gain.

6th throw complete: Sam 3rd, Zunic 4th.

They corrected something and Sam will finish 3rd, a one point gain. FL will finish 4th, a five point gain for them.

The results keep changing. Sam is now in 3rd.

Stripe Zunic's 5 points in the javelin really hurt us. That will be difficult to make up.

Joey and Michael need to make the 800m finals.

Obinwa of Florida will not make the 800m finals.

Roberts sixth and out. Will not make finals.

Prior to the meet, Joey had the sixth best time and finished 17th.
Prior to the meet, Michael has the 14th best time and finished 22nd.
We have to do better!

Not good news on the men's side, but the women's are doing a litter better. Oregon's Laura Roesler did not qualify in the 800m.

Edit: ... which could be bad since LSU's Charlene Lipsey (3rd best time in qualifier) has a better chance to score more points.
