Get these Champions off the Other Sports Forum and into their own.

Track and Field National Champions, Aggie Women and Men.

Each three years in a row.

I totally agree. This is an historical day, both for the NCAA, but more importantly for TEXAS A & M Athletics. I am so very proud of the men and women and for Coach Henry and all his staff. (I bet this doesn't make it onto the klanhorn station)

I understand that a T&F forum might not get a lot of traffic, but who cares? What's the problem with giving each sport their own forum? I like the idea, especially for such a successful program.

i'd also increase your 12th man foundation gifts and send byrne a note of thanks... let him know that donation increases are happening because of other things that aren't football

GD it. Every year we have this same thread start up 15 times. Why not give each sport its own forum? It's pretty simple: Aside from the above forums, the same 10 people follow all of the "other sports" and it's more convenient for us to leave them all in one forum. It keeps threads alive for longer than having to click to 12 different places to find them.

I'm as excited as everyone, but it's still a dumb idea. It's not about "honoring the team," it's about how the internet works.

You're all going to disappear for the next 11 months and 30 days, until we're ready to win one next year. No need to ruin it for the rest of us.

I'm with AGBlastoff.

I also think having them in one forum promotes more interest in the various sports. Someone might come over to look at swimming, but clicks a track thread for the hell of it and they slowly show more interest in track. (Yes, I realize a few people might click a track forum for the hell of it).

Watch out! We've got an internet pro on our hands.

Read the votes of people FOR giving T&F their own forum. Consult how often they post on T&F threads or the other sports board in general.

Compare to the votes of people AGAINST a T&F forum, and how often they actually read T&F threads.

Let us have our way.

Hand of God, are you just throwing out every cliche internet-putdown you can think of? Clearly you've spent too much time on the football board lately...

as the one who lobbied for and got Softball to be recognized in the title of the forum along with Baseball - I concur on this.

Three time national champs should not be relegated to "other".

Make it so.

Agree! Track & Field is the one sport where we are the undisputed BEST in the country. I think the creation of a track dynasty is deserving of your own forum on Texags.

I'm sure Henry and Co. will check this site everyday to see if they've finally gotten what they really want.

As someone who may not post a lot, but consistently reads the Other Sports forum, I would like to third TXAggie2011, and AGBlastoff. Track and field gets more coverage because they don't have their own forum. I will read a track and field/volleyball/etc post in the off season if it is in the other sports forum, but would probably never click on it except during a major meet otherwise. I will rarely go to the baseball and basketball forum during the off-season and defiantly wouldn't click on the track forum.

Also, even with Track and Field winning the national championship, we still have a thread on the first page from 10 days ago. The other sports forum works just fine. It isn't a slight against the track team to have it in a forum with other Aggie sports.

There's merit to both sides of the argument.

But we've also seen with the general board, outdoors board and women's bball board that a vacuum may create more interest and more posters.
