Missy will be the fastest American female in four events at trials - 100/200 free, 100/200 back, and could be a top IMer. But I don't think she'll do that many events as a 17 year old.

After what we saw at Nationals, highly doubt she'll swim the 200 IM. If she wants an 8th event, she'll do the 50 free. But I think that she'll stick with the 7 that Spicewood mentioned (4+3 relays).

On a related note, it's amazing how quickly a versatile swimmer gets up to 7 or 8 events, isn't it?

It is exciting to see Missy do so well. I saw her swim in Austin two years ago as a 14 year old in a "Texas Open" meet or something like that. She popped a 48-high 100 free that day - already fast enough for any D1 team in the country. And look at her now. Everytime she gets on the blocks she races to win.

She's the most refreshing thing in USA Swimming. London is going to be very exciting.

Most places just list "Entry Deadline" as the end of the Trials period. I saw one site that liste May 25 as the registration deadline.

Entry Deadline is June 25th, the day the meet starts. Good luck getting a hotel room (CWS going on at the same time), but theoretically...

No doubt about Missy Franklin. Amazing young talent. I count at least seven realistically plausible races for her in London if all goes well. Also really intrigued that both Janet Evans and Ed Moses are back training heavy. I read a recent interview with Moses. Sounds like he's really grown up a lot since his brash, arrogant younger days. Could be interesting.
